Don't know what stings more - 10 draws at home (in all competitions) or 11 losses on the road. Such a thin line between mediocrity (for a major club) and trophies.
Not a thin line this year. We never got untracked and had a single run of 7-8 games where we played really well. We were never really very close...
http://www.rightresult.net/ Saw this elsewhere, didn't know where to put it though. Basically, it's what the table would look like if the referees got every decision right (goals wrongly disallowed, etc). It assumes that penalties that should have been given were converted and things like that, but it's still very interesting to look at. According to this, we would have ended up 3rd with 5 more points. Interesting to see how much the referees gaffes have had an impact on the season. Can't expect them to get it all right though.
STAT OF THE YEAR: Arsenal did not surpass Charlton in number of clean sheet on the year. Charlton were relegated.
Spot on. Look at the total goals scored in the premiership: 1. ManU - 83 2. Chel - 64 3. Arse - 63 4. Liv/Tot - 57 For all the hand wringing about the midfield not holding up their end of the offensive bargin, defensively the side just couldn't measure up. While only ManU, Chelsea and Liverpool gave up fewer goals, it was a noticable difference: 1. Chel - 24 2. ManU/Liv - 27 4. Arse - 35
Ok, one stat i was looking for all season .. Is there any way i can find out how many chances were created ?! In other words, how many oppurtunities for goal were created and stuff liek that ? I tried looking but couldnt' find anyting ..
I've seen something that said we created the most, but I can't remember where, or when, or how, so that's not much use at all is it ?
