You know, there are no photos of Ravel Morrison and George Santos together.

    I wonder...

    a) :D

    2) I struggle to think of something much more creepy than elf on a shelf, at least anything holiday related. So thankful I never heard of it as a child or a parent of one.

How about a shelf on an elf?

    I didn’t know that Ravel was “Jew-ish”.

Well, I for one am happy to see him on the way out. I'm sure our defense will miss getting passes from a guy in space, when they have attackers pressing our defense...

So if Romo and Ravel leave as rumored, and Klich comes in, I guess this is the current roster (I'm putting Najar and Santos at midfield, even though they could be defense):

    GK: Miller, Bono, Zamudio
Defenders: Ruan, Greene, Birnbaum, Williams, Hines-Ike, Pines, Akinmboni, Sargis, Jeahze, Samake
Midfield: Klich, Palsson, Rodriguez, Durkin, Najar, Santos, Canouse, Hopkins, Ku-DiPietro, Garay
Forward: Fountas, Benteke, Robertha, Berry, Fletcher

That would actually give United 28 rostered players, so there's not a lot of room left for roster construction without players leaving. Which likely needs to happen if the team wants to keep playing homegrowns, since, if everyone's healthy, it's hard for me to see which of the more tenured players don't make the 18 to fit some of the kids in.

I guess we'll see if the team will be looking to move on from someone like Canouse or Robertha as training camp opens.

I think both Canouse and Robertha are trade bait, especially Canouse. And, if either are moved, it will be for GAM, not other players. Whether or not this team improves really is down to the Academy players stepping up. Hopkins is a probable. Ku-DiPietro and Greene are "maybe/probable" and the others are works in progress.

They can’t be too far down the road, he played this weekend. Klich played 25 min on Saturday. If they were anywhere near close, he wouldn’t be playing.

Sure. He didn't stand out on a team with no stand-outs. Losing him (if true) frees up cash but creates a hole that we need to fill. Canouse can't be that guy and Kilsch may be but needs a younger back up. So as of now we don't even gain by attrition.

Klich is on in the 63rd and he’s been playing during this whole negotiation. It’s not how most teams who selling a player act and are protective of the player they’re selling, in spite of what the press is reporting about he’s pretty much free to go. Leeds also don’t have a replacement lined up which could hold up the signing and thus the visa process.

You can't see the video in the US but it's clear Klich is done at Leeds.

You beat me to posting that tweet. Still seems odd how they've handled it. Now I just hope he's worth having as a DP the next 2 seasons.

That they are letting him go on a free sure makes sense of why they felt free to play him right to the end. Leeds fan love him (and many think he should still be starting). Looking forward to seeing him in the black and red.

It's great that they love him, but he appears to have had a steady decline in production on every metric since 2017 when he joined them. His goals dropped into the abyss, his assisting hasn't been spectacular and other stats such as passes completed etc. also fell off. Not sure why this isn't just another Ravel, but at least he doesn't beat up women and call people racist and homophobic slurs so that's something.

Interesting edits to his wikipedia too, someone managed to get "impressing"/"impressive" descriptors in there 5 times, even when talking about a single goal or two goals over many games. Well, you do what you gotta do! :)

I am completely and totally pumped on marginal at best improvements at several notable positions (maybe). I thought you'd be able to see that even with those coke bottle glasses.

Marginal at best is better than we are used to. I’ll take it. My local team signed a Croatian youth player and uefa golden boy finalist. DCU aren’t my local team.

That explains the "P.S. Bob, I forgive you" on the bottom of Klich's message.

    Ravel appears to be staying.
