Right, sorry, I meant age in comparison to Durkin. Durkin is 22 about to turn 23. Given what I saw as improvement from him throughout last season, I expect there is still more upside to come from him. I like Canouse as a player -- quite a bit -- but that is also frustrating because he misses a bunch of games.
Despite being a STH for some time, I must confess that when I look at today's roster I frequently find myself saying "Who's he?"
Guys like Durkin have an upside due to age and experience. He isn't going to be a star but could be a nice MLS level journeyman. Canouse is one of my faves but yes he does miss a lot of matches through injury. As for people putting Ravel in a starting line up, I just shake my head. He singlehandedly put our defenders under more pressure than any attacker in the league. Add to that his attitude playing for Jamaica, as if he were actually the best player on the pitch, which he also demonstrated at DC. He hopefully never sees the pitch again for DC, like not even on the bench.
Even last season, he was not a guaranteed starter. But in the end, I'm not going to stress about it. I don't rate him more than a middling journeyman that has flashes of excellence. Manager thinks otherwise, shocked, and since he makes the team...
Jeez looking at that screen cap I had to think back for a minute to when he was first getting time and then I remembered the videos of Korb teaching him how to drive in the RFK parking lots.
I don’t expect either to be around long. Watched Kilch for Leeds today. Guy is molasses. Would be a terrible signing.
According to MLS.com, players and coaches report on January 6th. Interestingly(?) still no word on the GM search and additional assistants for Rooney.
It bothers me how little useful information there is in these reports about operation of the facilities or current agreements between United and Loudoun County regarding what kind of team plays there.

Happy New Year. A few D.C. United updates, per sources:Talks with Mateusz Klich and Leeds “continue to progress.”Ravel Morrison doesn’t seem likely to return and is pursuing a move.Club is not in talks with any DCU players whose contract option was declined.#mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 3, 2023
Goff just reported a DC United update: Talks to get Klich continue to progress. Ravel Morrison doesn't seem likely to return and is pursuing a move elsewhere. The team is not in talks with any players whose contract option was declined, so don't expect any of Guediri, Kempin, Odoi-Atsem, Perez, or Kimarni Smith back. Edit: Damn, beaten by seconds by @Atouk
Dude just seems to hate being in one place too long - must be hiding from bill collectors or something.
Ravel: I dunno, I just feel like someone's watching me again. Wife: That's just the elf-on-the-shelf. Ravel: Dammit, woman! So that's how they keep finding me. I gotta call my agent, and this time, we reject any contract that comes with "Clauses."
