About to end 1-1. Odense have been lucky, this result keeps them in the race to top the group and have a shot at Conference play next season. Sabbi out at 83'.

Looks to have played the #9 without making the scoresheet in a 4-0 thrashing of last place Lyngby. Subbed out in the 81st minute.

Sabbi has been on fire all season but just in the “relegation rounds” or whatever they are called for the SuperLiga…. he’s scored 6 goals and added 3 assists in 9 matches. 2 goals and 2 assists in 9 matches in the “regular” season. ” Odense has gone 5-3-1 with 18 pts in the relegation round, good for second behind Midtjylland

Well, being honest, those bottom-half table Danish teams are below median MLS quality. Sabbi only has one goal against a top six team (Brøndby, the #6).

well to be fair…. In the relegation playoffs or whatever they call it…. He’s playing matches and scoring against teams not in the top six. But your point stands.

Unless Sabbi had a soccer IQ epiphany this is just a streak in a long, long run of very little impact. You can‘t just learn, or get it from how far behind he is. Nice to see him scoring again but he is what he is. Ain‘t all that young anymore either.

    He’s going to Venezia.

[BTW… I have no idea. I just thought last season he’d be a good fit. They needed good wingers. He is also born in Italy. Made sense to me. let’s make it happen!] :D

Sabbi not in the Starting XI or on the bench for OB their season opener vs Randers today. Supposedly he was held out of training this week and there are no injuries reported. This certainly seems like a move is brewing as it was reported he had interest from outside Denmark.

He's an intriguing player - his highlights seem amazing...and he has gone on a few runs of high prodcution in denmark....

then again, He really struggled in his lone jan camp appearance for the usmnt

I have the feeling he is capable of more.....but I guess highlights can be deceiving....idk.....

OB Odense director of Football Björn Wesström now confirm that a bids have been rejected.

"We have rejected bids on him. It remains to be seen whether he is sold, but it is a matter of all parties agreeing. If we do that, there will be a transfer, and if not, we have a good player in OB. That's the way it is," Wesström said after the 2-1 away win over Brøndby.

    Highlights :

    Attendance : 22,734

Bröndby IF - Odense Boldklub, Jul 30, 2023 - Superligaen - Match sheet | Transfermarkt

The rumor is that Sabbi is unhappy about OB Odense rejecting an offer from Turkish side Antalyaspor. The problem I suspect is, that even if it would seem like a very "good" offer on paper, it may be that they offer to pay in installments, which would be a no-go, because of Turkish clubs (outside the their absolute top sides) and their owners having a rather poor reputation of not paying up, if the club is not doing too well, the same goes for the player wages. So you have to be especially cautious regarding transfers to Turkey, because "all that glitters is not gold" .

I don't blame them at all for rejecting installment payments from clubs in certain countries.

I noticed that I mistakenly wrote "a bids", which is kind of a slip, more than a mistake, because it could seem that they are talking about a specific bid, but that the OB Odense director of Football seem to imply that they have received several bids. Unfortunately 'a bid' and 'bids' is the same in Danish, and it could be the same Turkish side that have made several bids on him.

is that really even a step up?

was kinda hoping it would be for a bigger club

Perhaps he just want to try something new, and then the Turks are usually great at waving loads of (fictive) money at you.

It's btw difficult to be an agent in Denmark, no matter if it's in sports, film and media :D

Nice! Sabbi looks to be headed to newly promoted Ligue 1 side Le Harve.
