John Greig and Emlyn Hughes were a remarkably defensive players in the 2nd half 60s to 70s (Greig is elder than Hughes for five years). They were a true captain and legend of their club and majority of career was performed as defensive midfielder. Another similarity of them is versatility. They even could switched to play as left-back and center-back well.

In reputation, John Greig was voted by Rangers' fan as their greatest player ever altough this result is possibly more deserved as the best in the second half of the 20th century since Alan Morton is also one of top legendary wingers of all-time, played in the 1910s - 1920s. Greig won SFWA footballer of the year twice times. His greatness is showed as his statue of Glasgow Rangers club.

Emlyn Hughes won FWA footballer of the year once time and very successful in European Cup competition.

However, Who should be rated higher in ability ?

[:D Thanks, mate, but my screen name isn't actually a direct reference to the comic strip: it's in honour of my late son Roy (who actually was a fan of the strip)...]

I ask who is a better skill player. Do you think they are in the same level or one is better than one (Hughes is more famous in worldwide due to play for Liverpool in golden era)

[So are you asking which one had more attacking skill(s)/flair, which one was more defensively skilled or which one was the more versatile defender?]
