Locker Room (KBPI) had a good session today on Marcelo Balboa, except for Willie B, who kept calling the "MLS" a bush league and essentially not ready for prime time, dissing the Rapids. Pretty insulting, esp. when you consider his on-air partner is Marc Stout, Rapids TV announcer. I checked out their website and got their email, and I sent Willie a piece of my mind! Email Willie at thelockerroom@kbpi.com He also called Marcelo Balboa "the banana seat on the bicycle of life", although I'm not sure what that really means.....
I've lost all respect for Stout especially after he lets Willie and D-Mac diss the Rapids and he doesn't defend them. Willie sits there and talks up the phucking lacrosse league and Stout doesn't say a word about the Rapids. Stout is a tool. And I just ignore Willie B. Those guys are a poor man's Rome and most of the people who listen to them have the same mentality. Don't waste your time. They'll only rip on the emails the next day. We know the truth and that is all that matters. Stout is in a position to promote the Rapids and he chooses not to. Emailing your outrage is only going to cause them to deride you, MLS, and the Rapids even more than they do. It's disheartening when you think that 90% of the 'major' media people that cover the Rapids don't really give a crap and have no passion for the team, the league, or the sport. Those guys could really use their positions to promote and pump up the league but instead they look at covering the Rapids as a chore. I especially like it when they talk about the Rockies, Broncos, and Avs in the pressbox while the Rapids game is going on. In one instance, they went so far as to ask that the Rapids game be turned off on the tv in the pressbox so that they could have the Avs game on. That is what the soccer fans in Denver have to contend with.
The same jackass that didn't know what lacrosse was until Stan Kronke handed him a picture book (you know he can't even read) to explain the game along with a paycheck.
