Socceroos winger Ahmad Elrich has been released early from his contract with English Premier League side Fulham.

In a statement posted on Fulham's website about its latest transfer deals, the club revealed that Elrich had been let go.

The 26-year-old signed a three-year contract with Fulham in 2005 but only appeared in six league games.

He missed all of last year's season due to a serious knee injury.

Big shock that one, made a mess of his career with the stuff-up move to and from Busan, then played shite at Fulham, got injured, was never going to last

read somewhere (maybe twg website) he's rumored to go to mariners. After how they looked against the roar tonight, they'd be almost unstoppable with a classy midfielder like elrich.

i read that too, would be nice if he came back to australia because he would rip up the a-league.

i've seen him play when he was at parramatta, guy's got great speed and whips in good crosses. hopefully he will come back to australia

It would not be bad to see him back in Australia. It's a good last option and any A-League side would be happy to have him.

But hopefully, given the lack of games he's had, he can find a club in like the Belgium first division atleast, hopefully even the Turkish, Dutch or possibly even French First Division or somewhere like that and get alot of games under his belt.

Then again given he's had some injuries, maybe the fewer games of the A-League and just returning home, may benefit him? He'd also be more within frame of the Socceroos Squad and our World Cup Qualifiers next year, if he has a good season with an A-League club.

    Re: Leijer at Fulham

They should give him a run, it's not as though Fulham are setting the world on fire anyway.

Kinda O/T, but from what i saw of Elrich in the nix game yesterday, Fulham were silly to let him go.
