I wouldn't put any money on Boeing or ULA. Maybe BlueOrigin.

The one and only issue I have with any of this is that the boards of Tesla or SpaceX could just get rid of the man and go back to being companies that sell things people or governments want.

Close a few of the Tesla factories, stop making the stupid truck and go back to making the S, 3, X, and Y. Stop blowing up Texas and focus on launch satellites with reusable rockets for 1/3 the price of ULA or whatever. Then Elon can just be the rich eccentric loner we all love to hate.

 

The Dacia Spring just came out in the UK. Basic but practical EV from Romania/France for $19k. Only 140 mile range but fast charging.

 

Problem is that the stock price is so inflated because of the "Musk Mystique."

If the board(s) kick him off, then their stock drops to reflect real value. No board, despite the longterm health of the company, would be willing to do that.

 

As a stockholder I'd prefer my valuations to be based on real business metrics.
