We don't have negative rep any more, do we... sad! Either the Jackson's or, (my preferred option), Gloria Gaynor, is what you should have used.
John Ganz on Trumpisms overt nazi turn Today I’ll be talking about—you guessed it—the Nazis! Namely, America’s number one fash curious talk show host: Tucker Carlson. This week Carlson had on Daryl Cooper, who goes by the online moniker “Martyr Made,” an amateur historian with a Substack and a podcast. Carlson’s post gushes, “Darryl Cooper may be the best and most honest popular historian in the United States. His latest project is the most forbidden of all: trying to understand World War Two.” Cooper presents himself as thoughtful, measured and soft spoken, but he is clearly a propagandist of an insidious sort. When Carlson asks him about his WWII project, Cooper says that we’re soon reaching a great enough historical distance where the old “taboos” are less forceful and a more “honest look at everything went it on” during the era is possible. He then says, “We spent the last 70 years, in Europe’s case, literally throwing people in jail for looking into the wrong corners, right?” Okay, one moment, please: what exactly is illegal in Europe? Well, it’s Holocaust denial. Honest people can dispute the wisdom and justice of such laws, but we can see what’s really being discussed here sotto voce. Cooper goes on to prattle on about how there’s no sophisticated, nuanced, or objective looks at the interwar period and the coming of the Nazi regime, just demonization of Germans. He then talks about how you supposedly can’t talk how “the Weimar culture lead to something like the National Socialists and why the people who embraced that movement did embrace it.’ This is, of course, total bullshit: There is a ton of very detailed scholarship on the rise of the Nazis. But notice a couple things here: he says specifically “the Weimar culture” suggesting the degeneration or decadence of Weimar was the reason for the Nazi ascendancy. To me the big tell is saying “National Socialists:” in my experience, people who say “National Socialist” instead of “Nazi” are usually Nazis or their sympathizers. But we don’t need to rely on subtle cues, because what Cooper goes on to say is not subtle at all: https://www.unpopularfront.news/p/were-so-back
In all honesty, the gas companies are way behind. It's not going to end well. Elon told them to build battery factories but they ignored him. Now its too late.
Too late in the sense that he was wrong as usual? They would have made lithium batteries sick have supply issues. The future is solid state.
I have my inflation-fighting McDonald's coffee in hand and ready to tackle the day! I found a Positive Elon tweet just now I'd like to share: BREAKING: Donald Trump to introduce a government efficiency commission recommended by Elon Musk. The commission would conduct "a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government" and make "recommendations for drastic reform," per WSJ. how was he wrong? I was comparing electric cars over the weekend. Subaru has only one and its called the Solterra which gets 220 miles of range. And Tesla has many that get more than that! The Long Range model 3 gets 363!
If your argument is that traditional automakers are too late in making EVs, you aren't entirely wrong. Where you are wrong is that Tesla has cornered the market. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Tesla is going to go under in the near future, but it is slipping globally. I think Tesla will continue to be the top selling EV brand in the US for the near term simply because it has the most charging stations and realistically resolves a lot of the "range anxiety" that plagues CCS in the US. However, in Europe, European and Chinese manufacturers are rapidly gaining (and in BMW's case, overtaking) Tesla sales. https://insideevs.com/news/731043/bmw-outsells-tesla-evs-europe-july/ Tesla aren't even the best EVs out there any more. Hyundai, BYD, BMW, maybe even KIA all have better EVs than Tesla. I think it is very fair to say that Tesla made the EV market, but, like many trailblazers, they are being caught and passed by others going along the path they cleared.
wow good for bmw they are finally selling a lot it seems. at 14,869 for July while Tesla sold 14,561. a tight race. but how many EVs in the USA did bmw sell? probably not many. there's just no way they can catch tesla because tesla has much more battery capacity. tesla also has new models coming which are still in development. like the Roadster, the Semi, and more. I think they're creating a smaller car like a Model 2? Tesla also sells solar panels and wall batteries. The whole shebang from A-Z. There is also the question of - is BMW actually making a profit on these? probably not. The problem with the OEMs is that they have a lot invested in IC infrustructure and can't just switch it over to EV without a ton of work.
Mark Cuban makes a valid point..... Elmo is promoting a Tucker Carlson interview with an holocaust denier...
We already have an idea of what that would entail thanks to the GQP budget in the House: amongst other things want to cut CDC budget by nearly a quarter, including defunding large swaths of HIV programs because why not finish what Reagan started?
