If I remember one of Musk's fanboi's argument, an asshat who I have on ignore for obvious reasons but who I saw one day when I inadvertently checked this forum when not logged in. . . "It's not censorship. It's a sound business decision."

NASA will be deemed to be a woke agency filled with communists and shuttered. The budget will be privatized and SpaceX will "win" the bid for the entire budget.

Our 16 year old Toyota Corolla could handle that even without snow tires.

Truthfully, that looks more like tire problem than an inherent Cybertruck problem.

Second. There were plenty of pictures of cybertrucks stuck in the snow last year too.

it’s an old favourite topic of mine that the modern driver does not understand traction because since years now the car does traction control for you.

As knave points out, you need to think through the physics of it.

often the older front wheel drive shopping cart could escape these situations where the big wagon with split diff would grind away uselessly!

Also reminds me of the old life hack of a few people sitting on the bonnet of a car on the skifield access road to try to maintain some grip!

I think i mentioned i got addicted for a few days to Matts Off Road Vehicle Recovery channel - from Utah

The problem in these situations is under snow in those parking bays is usually ice, so if you cut through the top, you will get stuck - especially on a camber. This is why you should spot what you are going to drive on to - even if it seems like not much snow.

Seen here at 3.30. Even Matt's giant wrecker can slide right off or get stuck- a city idiot would no doubt just drive fast along this track which is likely how the Ram went off

    LOL

Yeah I am not really sure I believe old boys explanation when you read the actual charges

In one instance AAA covered three claims, totaling $2,800, for a vehicle tow to Salt Lake City, but the individual who submitted the claims admitted to the Utah Insurance Fraud Division that his vehicles were not towed, according to charging documents. Wetzel agreed to deliver construction material to the individual and the unnamed individual submitted claims to AAA instead of paying Wetzel directly, the charges state.

The investigator said Wetzel took responsibility for the false claims in a phone call, and said that in this instance he had provided towing services to the individual at separate times and Wetzel asked him to file a claim with AAA later instead of asking for payment or billing the individual at the time of service, according to the charges.

Wetzel also allegedly told the investigator that there were other instances where he would provide services and not immediately bill the person, then later Wetzel would ask them to submit a claim.

"Wetzel maintained he never turned in a job that did not have a legitimate service tied to it," the investigator said.

In another instance, charging documents allege that Wetzel helped with a tow for an individual who did not have an AAA membership. The filing claims Wetzel told the individual to obtain a membership, wait a few days, and then file a claim. Investigators say the claim that was filed was for a tow from Las Vegas to Washington County, when the charges claim the tow was actually from Apple Valley.
In another instance, charging documents allege that Wetzel helped with a tow for an individual who did not have an AAA membership.

It does seem like the people doing the insurance fraud here are actually the customers? Not sure why on earth he did this to be honest. Maybe it's something small time Indies have to do to get jobs?

Well, that's also because most standard road cars, like my old Hyundai i30, only weigh about 1.1 - 1.4 tons whilst I see the cybertruck weighs in at over 3 tones. Even other trucks, (y'know... the ones that can actually be used as a truck), seem to come in about 2/3rds of the weight so whilst I dare say tires are a factor, I can't help thinking that these monstrosities are just too bloody heavy.

I think this is a lot of it. The area is quite remote and surely there isn’t much money in it. Most people can’t afford or are unwilling to pay to get towed.

While not a problem in this case, this "truck" seems to have no more clearance than the average car. If I'm paying 101K for a truck it better not be getting stuck in the snow.
