You have to understand the nature of kompromat in Putin's world. It isn't just about Putin having compromising material, it's about knowing he has that material and isn't doing anything with it. It makes Trump more comfortable with Putin if Putin has kompromat because Putin knows some of his more secret proclivities and is (or seems to be) ok with it. They're buds now.

Putin will never blackmail Trump. They don't consider Trump an agent that is controlled, as we saw in his first Presidency where afterwards Russia admitted Trump was kind of a failure for them as he didn't do all the things he promised or that they hoped he would do. Trump is more an agent of chaos, and agent of weakening America's grip on the world.

Trump will never be blackmailed by Putin. Currently Trump is in the submissive position and wants Putin's respect as a fellow strongman, so there is no need. If Putin ever betrays his sense of loyalty then Trump will be furious and go scorched earth on him and he won't care what collateral damage there is. It's the Cohen playbook.

Putin might use it if a Trump Presidency is failing and they want to drown him in scandal to cause chaos in the US, but I don't think there is anything anyone could say about Trump that would reduce his stature among his followers.

 

And Bolsonaro for that matter......W/out forgetting Elon Musk.

As to being sceptical, the issue as I presented it is nothing to do with Trump. Any scepticism is about what Putin would have tried to achieve... not what Trump wanted. In that context a piss tape sounds exactly like what the ex-head of the KGB would have tried to achieve. It's not 'natural', (like someone having sex). It's kinky and sordid.

I don't have a problem with thinking it's total BS. I'm just struggling to understand why it CAN'T be true, particularly as the allegation is about the intentions of Vladimir Putin. People can't relate to financial shenanigans. They CAN relate to someone getting a freebie to go to a concert they want to go to.

Something sick and a bit twisted goes over badly with the rubes whereas someone banging a porn star or grabbing women by the pvssy... hey, that just means you're a red-blooded male in the west so what's the issue.

Even sending tests to your bestie who is also a 'strong man' is less unattractive than being a weirdo who wants to watch kinky sex stuff.

At least, it's arguable one way or the other and I suspect it comes down more to the person reading or seeing it as to what's worse.
