    1. He drives a pickup truck. He's a "regular guy" not really sure why or how, but he is
    2. She is an "elitist" I am not really sure why or how, but she is.
    3. She is "shrill" and "divisive"
    4. The local media loooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss Brown. (Well except for maybe the Globe, but that's elitist too.)

I notice that most people who drive pick up trucks are upper middle class.

Those Silverados are frickin' expensive. They've replaced the red convertible as the midlife crisis vehicle of America.

Also, why do people assume that just because a candidate is a woman, an Obama appointee or a not-idiot, she's automatically a nanny state socialist?

Brown is a tough opponent. He's pretty, he's articulate, he's been reasonably centrist with his votes, he's well funded, and he hasn't made many mistakes.

I don't know what kind of campaign she's running, but if she's not out there everyday playing the I'm just a good ol' Oklahoma country girl routine, then she should be. The voters are dumb as hell for buying into the regular person schtick, but she knows that, so play the game. Pretend you forget how to spell Harvard.

She's running a populist campaign and has been endorsed by unions so far. The only ad against Brown I've seen so far is by the league of conservation voters.

There's still 9 months to go, and she's outraising him nearly 2-to-1 at this point. Right now she's shoring up her base and working on name recognition (the incumbent always has the advantage there).

Also, Suffolk are a pretty unreliable polling source, and this particular poll is an outlier. I wouldn't read too much into it.

If we see this kind of thing in late summer, then I'll be concerned.

Just applied to volunteer for Warren's campaign this summer...........since I'm currently (essentially) unemployed and starting grad school in September it might not be a bad way to spend time

Yeah that makes sense, because if I was unemployed I’d want to volunteer for candidate that claims to be the intellectual inspiration for a movement that will fight for my right to never have to work, meanwhile I'll pursue a graduate degree at taxpayer expense.

If we could still use "gay" as a synonym for stupid, that post would have been double gay

and I bet you will bitch and moan about all those immigrants coming and stealing our 6 figure jobs b/c companies cannot find qualified candidates in this country's job pool...

and I bet you'd be too f***ing stupid to realize that that attitude, when applied to public policy, has led to a precipitous drop in the standing of the US's university system. We're now ranked 14th. A generation ago we were #1.

That kinda sorta doesn't cut it when we're trying to have a ... you know... modern economy.

For some reason, I don't think a Neanderthal/Moran economy is a good thing. But what do I know.

This isn't hypocritical at all. When it comes to paying taxes to help out the US, the douche-bags typically say, "well just write your check to the US government and shut up". Yet when someone chooses to spend their personal time, those same douche-bags jump on them because it doesn't fit to their standard of living?

Who the F*@k appointed you king decision maker for other peoples personal lives?

Congrats Fish, you have officially joined the ranks.

Your right I should go back to serving your kind at the mall. (That is until the store, which made record amounts of money over the Holidays decided that they would not be giving hours to part-timers until further notice ) That was a way more productive way to spend my time.

Oh and I'm paying for as much of my masters out of pocket with my savings as I can. I'll also be working during that time. So yes I will take out student loans, sorry for being such a burden on you and your lifestyle.

This race is going to be slugfest.

I am not really sure what to expect seeing as it is only March but strap in for what will surely be one of the most exciting races in the country.

The guy is the third most moderate senator, by voting record, in the country.
