R and Lyn is defeated 2-3 to RBK, heartbreak for Lyn. in an apparently epic battle the good guys go down to the traditional power. however the westsiders continue to lead the series 5 away from Odd, this year's other suprise. Lyn captain and player of the year favorite Per Egil Swift calls it the bitterest defeat. Hey Brian, how'd you get a yellow card? Lyn 34 Odd 29 Stabæk 28 Molde 28 Rosenborg 27 Viking 26 Vålerenga 20 Brann 20 Lillestrøm 16 Bodø/Glimt 15 Bryne 15 Moss 13 Sogndal 11 Start 7
Shocking loss for Molde. The after break has been unkind to them. Sogndal however has been on a bit of a roll since the break. this is two in a row. Nice win for Bodo and pretty much what was expected in the other game. this has been an incredible series so far this year!
FT Viking 0 - 0 Lyn FT Brann Bergen 2 - 3 Rosenborg Red&Black, you can't get any of these matches can you?
No Brian, I can't. You can get two league matches a week via Web TV. I get my info mostly from the web but also my better half works at the Norwegian embassy and some folks there watch them. I also get a lot of info from Lyn and the league through a family connection.

NM Cupen Bodo/Glimt ? - ? Tromso Bryne ? - ? Lyn Odd Grenland ? - ? Start Kristiansand Skeid Oslo ? - ? Stabaek Stromsgodset ? - ? Hodd Viking ? - ? Rosenborg How seriously is the cup taken in Norway? I'd imagine more so by the smaller clubs but wasn't sure...
Brian the Cup games are today, they almost always play them on Wed. The Cup is pretty serious in Norway. I believe the winner gets a UEFA bid. Also, the norwegian series doesn't have any kind of playoff or grand finale so the Cup can be the biggest game of the year. I think especially for any bigger club who doesn't do well in series it is important. it is certainly taken much more seriously than the US Open Cup.

Suicidal move by Lyn who led the league by 8 pts or so when the board appointed a new Croatian manager some weeks ago with no knowledge about Norwegian football. The club is winless since and haven't scored a goal in the last three matches! Rosenborg are topping the table for the first time this season after scoring winning goals right on full time in three of the last four matches. Lyn could have opened up a 13 point gap down to Rosenborg only four matches ago, now they trailing by one point instead! I just hope Lyn, Molde and Viking can keep up the pace and make it an exciting run-in to the season. Rosenborg will travel to Molde on Saturday, but will face Brøndby first on Wednesday in the 'Battle of Scandinavia' Champions League qualifier at Lerkendal.
i am happy to see some more folks following this year's tippeligen, it is fun. this is such a great year, especially for me due to Lyn's great run (its all about Per Egil Swift). norwegian football is fun and exciting and to my mind, this is the most fun season in years.
