Other than those 2 fouls, we've controlled the play, which is very refreshing. No more conservative play. We should beat Peru.:)

I'm liking how we have played...so we have been punished by two deadball situations...but its not like everyteam out there has a Riquelme...

I hope Chile can score one to give a bit of a morale boost.

    Riquelme 2 - 0 Chile

I can't stop thinking... could Bravo have done anything at all in either free kick situation? At least try to go for it...

I think Chile pressured really well for most of the game but we abused the fouls (mostly by our mids). You can't give away the free kicks that we gave away today... because set pieces CAN make a difference. Like it did today.

I wasn't impressed by our offensive play. Matias didn't show up for most of the game... although when he showed up he made a difference. After the red card there was nothing else we could do. I was actually pleasantly surprised by our defensive line... they held really well.

Messi didn't show up. Tevez did a little more... but generally our defense did good in neutralizing them. Good job Riffo and Vidal. Vidal was, in my opinion, our man of the match. Recovered many balls.

Iturra did well recovering but his passing was poor. Our worst player, in my opinion, was Alvarez. Always nervous and hesistant... no wonder he got red carded. Hope he's never a starter again.

Will give more impressions later... I have to say I'm a little disappointed. We didn't do enough on offense as was implied. Then again, I knew we were going to lose this game so it's no biggie. A lot of mixed feelings right now.

It's different to see Chile keep a three man defensive line throughout the game, that didn't lose concentration on the ground despite playing with a man down.

Agreed...although for me it was Mark Gonzalez who played the worst.

Bye, bye to Mark and Alvarez.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Mark. Yes, on par with Alvarez... I was counting how many balls Mark lost... at least 6 in a row  Then those would turn into Argie counters... not good at all. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because of his injury... but I still think he shouldn't play against Peru, even if he's fit.

Mark Gonzalez without a doubt performed poorly. There was nothing Bravo could have done those free kicks were unstoppable, the placement of the shot, velocity, and impaired vision offered by the double wall were too much. Carlos Villanueva should be making an appearance.

Bielsa hoy volvió a demostrar que no conoce el fútbol chileno.

La selección jugó el PEOR partido que he visto en Argentina.
    No hubo nadie rescatable.

    No citó a Rieloff
    No citó a Roco

Are you kidding?! I remember the match from last year...we had like three attacks in the whole match and scored twice! The rest of the match 90% of the team was hanging from the post!

At least Bielsa never renounced to attack...and even then, the only way Argentina could score against us was through two brilliant free kicks. I thought Ponce, Riffo and Vidal were pretty decent. (we have to get rid of Mark though, his level is sooo poooor, bring in Villanueva or Orellana or even Iturra on that side!)

I can tell you that I feel more confident now that Chile will beat Peru than I was with Olmos.

Loco found a way to have both Salas and Suazo playing at the same time.

Wouldn't say that this has been the worst game, the 4-1 was an embarrasment. Agree with you on Mark Gonzalez, he failed us this game and missed a great chance with the free kick that went nowhere.

-I would rather see Rieloff instead of Alvarez.

-Roco has discipline problems with his own club.

-Maldonado is an offensive player so we should see more of him when playing at home.

-Droguett is seen as an important sub that had to fix Fierro's inability when playing for La Roja.

-Villanueva needs playing time, the public demands it.

-Orellana is still unproven, there's still a big question mark where we can only wait and see.

-Suazo is key and Chile needs to keep working with him even if he's fallen short of scoring goals in Mexico.

If we would have had sanchez this would have been a total different game.

Just having Alexis on the field would have made it a different game. The individual performances weren't there.
