Marquinhos header. I guess we still have some danger off the corner. We will probably find some other random goal and win this. 1 x 1
So, Raphinha obviously earning himself a start here. Wonder if it will actually happen. PK on the follow-up to his play. Gabigol scores it 2x1.
Exactly what I was about to say. He has played very well after coming in. And actually looks like a legit winger unlike Jesus. The one positive from this game so far.
1 more sub available, 5 mins + probably added time. Can we at least pretend this was a better performance and get another one or two on the score sheet?
Raphina is MOTM without any doubts. I agree as well - he should start. Colombia will be harder than Venezuela - hopefully Tite is willing to be even a little bit flexible for that match.
Good play from Raphinha ... it was only Venezuela, but not like anybody else was doing much. So he deserves a better look at this point. Vin Jr. didn't impress me much. He is doing fairly well at Madrid, but I honestly thought he'd be better by now after he left Flamengo. Not sure what his ceiling is. Fabinho and Gerson don't really convince me.
9th consecutive win, 9 matches. 27 points. Brazil is not yet mathematically guaranteed in Qatar, but there are now only 3 direct berths as Brazil will be there next year.
Well, I'll miss the Colombia game since I'm traveling. Hopefully I miss a much better performance. I'd really like to see Gabriel Jesus benched now, with Raphinha and Anthony making a case for themselves today. Gabigol has been disappointing, and our midfield is still too ineffective, but I doubt we'll see a ton of changes. Maybe we'll see Fabinho + Fred (or Douglas Luiz) + one or two of Paquetá/Gérson/Éverton. And Neymar + 1 or Neymar + 2 wingers up front.
Tite is repeatedly accused of inflexibility and stubbornness. To an extent, this is a factually correct allegation. But as we saw in his call-ups for the September matches, he made good choices; it was the imbroglio with the FA that deprived him of the names he wanted. I admit Tite is sometimes too slow to change for my tastes, but the mere fact he's bringing some of the young men who won Olympic gold in Japan this year is a good sign. And he knows Colombia will be more challenging than Venezuela; he remembers that match in Engenhão where we squeaked out a win at the very last minute of the match. Hopefully he will make some adjustments; granted, With 27 points, Brazil is all but qualified. Will we see any experiments in Barranquilla?
