Yeah ... we've seen it happen before. Sadly we don't have the aerial game we used to have. I guess Marquinhos gets the odd goal off the corner, but we used to have Lucio, Thiago Silva, David Luiz among some others who came through for us in the air when needed.
Some managers, Dorival included, don't want to integrate youngsters too early or at all. I'm beginning to think Dorival only calls up Endrick and now Estevao because of pressure.
Something I didn't see me saying a few months ago ... I think Raphinha would be useful floating through the middle at this point ...
Arana could have headed that on goal. At least Luis Henrique has come in well. Doing what Vini should be doing.
I'd put in Gerson for Paquetá. at this point. With Luiz Henrique in, I don't see how you put Estevão in now.
I really thought he'd have an easier time to show something today. I understand that Ecuador were setup in a way that gave him little space.
Luiz Herinque with the easy pass wide to Estevão and he makes 3 fake moves to give the pass behind him. This is what I am talking about making stupid decisions.
"O que importa é o resultado" - Dorival Jr. One deflected goal in 2 games. Dorival shouldn't even be talking about the WC until the team is qualified or else you risk looking like a fool.
Shocking that this team cannot score goals anymore. Also shocking are the plethora of missed passes or the lack of vision to detect runs into space. I think Savinho and Raphinha will improve the situation (plus Militao was missing this time). But how can a coach call so many average players to the team (athletes in the garb of a footballer)? Who could imagine that a player with Luiz Henrique's touch on the ball would be playing for the Brazilian national team?
It might sound crazy out of context, but in Brazil it's definitely one of the things that has been said out loud since the Uruguay match at least. Whether that's people making too much of the huddle or accurate reporting, I honestly don't know.
