That's a trick question b/c you are looking for something "reliable". :p AS, Cadena Ser, Marca, etc... have all had polls. Most of them have Villar Mir and Palacios as the top two candidates. The problem with those polls is that they are open to all fans, whereas only Socios will vote.

I'm sure all these sites will have exit polls on Sunday. Telemadrid will probably provide good coverage (www.telemadrid.com) - in Spanish though. Same for Realmadrid.com and RMTV.

As expected, Palacios has just announced that if he is elected he will sign Joaquin, Reyes, and Pablo.

Atleti have slapped a 30 million euro price tag on him. If Palacios was elected and Pablo revealed he wants to go to Madrid then the price is subject to fall during negotiations. If Palacios has agreed a 30 million fee for a mediocre defender then he is mad.

Gago wants to come to Real, but has denied any agreement with anybody. The Wenger and Kaka campaigns are both ridiculous and both are lies. You just don't know who to believe.

Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux

Breaking news is that a judge has ruled that only votes made in person will be counted. There have been all kinds of issues with absentee ballots. The latest embarassment was yesterday when over 3000 ballots were found in the election offices without anyone explaining how they got there or who they belonged to (i.e. if a candidate had been collecting them). All candidacies have been collecting ballots, but some have used more questionable methods than others. Calderon has been the one pushing for nullifying the absentee ballots.

They haven't published the judge's ruling yet so I don't know if this will be similar to the previous ruling where ballots mailed directly to the electoral committee would count. I'm afraid they wont.

You would think that this motion would help the candidacies of Palacios and Calderon as Villar Mir was expected to win a large number of absentee ballots.

Thank goodness that this campaign is almost over b/c it is becoming more and more embarassing.

No actually in this one he is actually right...

Freddie Adu is just 16, (look at the transfer thread to see his goal), he is promising. I wouldnt mind us bringing him here and loaning him out or putting him in Castilla. He could develop very well because he has a great upside.

This is coming from me too, and I the main one arguing against MLSinHD's american push....... ;)

Ok.. Cronaldo was interviewed by a TV program from Portugal, he confirmed that he is interested in joining Madrid and that he told this to his agent months ago

one of the candidates was telling the truth ... shocking

what a f**kin wanker. United makes this kid a star, and he goes and jumps ship. What a punk. C. Ronaldo will be worse than Beckham out there on the right. It will look great, stepovers and all that, only to see balls flying into the stands when he crosses, or poor shot after poor shot when he should pass. At least Becks gets his assists...

Yo RMFL, I was simply responding to Youngstars post. That's all. Sorry that there are actually some Americans that are good in this game. If you want to get technical, he's from Ghana and not the U.S. Freddy Adu has had interest from big clubs, i.e. AC Milan, Manchester United and Chelsea. I have no idea if Real Madrid is interested.

For the record, I would like to see Real Madrid go after Kaka and Robben. If somehow the club could buy those two players, I'd be very happy.

I respect your opinion, and I don't wanna start an argument in here cause it's not the right thread to do so, but in my opinion, I won't believe the hype about this kid until he has been tested against Europe and South America's best youth. Only then can you really rate him, currently he just looks good against a bunch of players who aren't very good at football, any player with half decent skills can do that.

Anyways to take it back on topic, Here's hoping Villar is victorious on Sunday, man I can't wait.

The chance of Adu coming to Real is close to zero. It has never happened that Real go after a 16-year old, or buy a prospect and develop him. So enough with this issue, and lets move on.

Ya guys its not necessarily that I'm pro American (ok maybe a little :D ) its just that I can give you my opinion on certain players that I feel can be very productive in Europe. I watch a lot of the MLS and grant it, its not as good as the EPL, Italian Serie A or La Liga but its getting much better every year. I would say right now the two most promising American players are Freddy Adu and Clint Dempsey. Sorry about my ranting on the MLS, I'll tone it down a bit.

Again my choices of going into next year would be: Kaka, Robben and hopefully Wenger. I would be very interested in hearing from the new president on what their future plans include, including on the field and off of it.

I actually think Villar Mir is the most honest of all the candidates. Alma was telling us that Villar Mir has not actually said Wenger will be the new manager, just that he wants him to be. Villar Mir has promised C.Ronaldo and he has just come out and told a Portugese news channel that he wants to join Real Madrid. Compare this with Calderon who's campaign is riddled with lies. Agreements with Cesc, Robben and Kaka. Cesc, Chelsea and Kaka have denied this. I don't see any other reason why people would vote for Calderon other than ensuring Kaka going to Real Madrid and thats quite simply not going to happen. Capello is not exactly a worshipped figure in and around Madrid either. He is only interested in coming to Madrid because of the Juventus scandal.

So who is left? It's highly unlikely that either Sanz or Baldasano will obtain substantial amounts of votes so you then we have Palacios. I don't have a problem with Palacios and I would have him as my second choice, however, for some reason I just don't see Del Bosque and Camacho functioning.

If I'm not mistaken, when DC United they stopped at the Bernabeu where Freddy Adu was seen with Emilio Butegueno. Probably just introducing each other and nothing more. I believe it was on Real Madrid's website.

I hope to see more about Real Madrid from you in the future. Freddy Adu is only what, 16? He's an option 6 years down the line.

Right now we're (I'm) more concerned about the fixtures list next season and whether we can purchase a LB, a CB, and 2 CMs.

It doesn't matter if Adu slept overnight in the Bernabeu & met every RM board member.

    Adu...is...not...coming...to...Real...Madrid!

I think RM bought Cambiasso and Felipe when they were 16.

Adu + Wenger, now that would be something

That isn't accurate is it? Cambiasso and Eto'o are two recent examples of players pruchased as teenagers. I'm sure there are a lot more, some that have panned out, some that haven't.

When were those players purchased?? In the Sanz era. Now if you want to vote Sanz and bring Adu and Gago to Real Madrid, go ahead. We all know the debts that the team suffered from during that period of time. All the other candidates, meanwhile, want to bring in established stars. The only way we will start developing prospects is if Wenger comes here, which is highly unlikely. And lets remember, we have good players in our youth teams. Will they be given the chance to play at the first team?? Where are Eto'o and Cambiasso playing now? We develop great players, but we don't give them a chance to play in the first team.
