Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Rooney knows more than anyone that the best coach for him right now is Sir Alex Ferguson. He has helped him and stood by him through all the tough times and the least Rooney can do is repay the confidence Ferguson showed in him. Don't expect Ronaldo to leave either.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux I loved the way Carvalho has played in the World Cup up to now. He has been sensational so far. How would a Canavaro-Carvalho tandem in the middle sound like?
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux where's ramos? or are we playing a 3-5-2 formation ? -ramos-canavaro-carvalho- -cicinho-DM-becks- -robinho-baptista-cassano- -------ronaldo------- or whatever
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux I have always stated that I want to see Ramos as our right back. I'm not against the option of moving Cicinho to RM or selling him.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Ramon Calderon said that if he does not win, he will tell the other candidate how to bring Kaka to Madrid... I mean is that a good thing? What if a socio prefers the other candidates and the only reason he's voting for you is because of the players you're going to bring.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux What is Calderon hoping to achieve with this Kaka nonsense? He just signed a contract extension last week. Kaka playing for Real Madrid prior to his contract extension was unlikely nevermind after it. His words are insincere and he is trying to manipulate the Socios.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Yeah. That's a player a lot of people will like. Palacios has called a press conference for tomorrow where he will announce deals with Reyes, Joaquin and Pablo (these names according to Cadena Ser). Again, three names a lot of people will like.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux still Villar-Mir is the cleanest cut.. although he has been vague....
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux The only thing that turned me away from Villar-Mir/Sanz was the Wenger obsession, its obvious the man is not coming here so why do they persist on it ? - They must take us for fools. Calderon on the other hand is promising and being realistic about things BUT i really dont know about this whole Kaká issue , i mean he just signed a new contract with them and lets face it, after Sheva left, he became thier only real star. I believe whoever is elected is going it to make things better than Florentino, except for Villar Mir, He will most likely make things as bad as Perez or even worse, the fact that he has 5 members from the old board backs this up. - We want a fresh breath of air, something new. ALSO We do not want the socio's looking for the perfect candidate because he does not exist. Simply it is impossible to satisfy everybody and whats success for some is failure for others.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux uh.... Calderon was persistant with Kaka... JUST LIKE, Villar-Mir is persistant with Wenger... there is no difference, if your going to bash one for it bash them all. When it comes down to it they both have made us look foolish in that part...
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Can someone perhaps explain, or direct me to a post which explains, why the election process has degenerated to such shannanigans? I remember during the Barcelona election that big names were thrown out there (I believe the election was won on the back of Beckham's name), but at least they were realistic as the players had a potential for moving. In this election it just seems ridiculous. Most reasonable football fans agree that neither Kaka or Wegner have a chance of coming to RM yet candidates are campaigning heavily on these two names. Will there be any accountability? If not why not? Basically when did it get this bad; or has it always been?
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux I can live with the whole Kaka thing from Calderon, he is just one player of many that has been promised. BUT Villar-mir's WHOLE campaing is build around Wenger, Wenger is to Coach of the first team, manage the Castilla and be Sports Director. - And i dont really care for the players he mention , its obvious we lack defensive players ( LP, CB's , DM ) But he hasn't mentioned any, insted he wants to bring 2 wingers and a CM.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Wenger would bring more players probably, if he comes. Can anyone tell me how are the candidates related to Real Madrid, i mean where they just socios, board members etc? KKTHNXBYE
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux These are tough decisions to make. If it were me, I'd go for either Villar Mir or Calderon. Either two seem very promising, but I would agree that getting Wenger will be an uphill battle. I understand these candidates all want to look good and are doing their best sales jobs, but even if they can negotiate deals with the individual players, what makes us so sure the clubs that own them will sell them? BTW I would go after Freddy Adu now. I guess it was mentioned that this will be his last seaon in the MLS, with Manchester United and Chelsea looking to sign him up. This kid is really good and he probably has the best individual skills of any player out there. The next best in MLS is without question Clint Dempsey. Right now I'd say Deuce is a step above Adu, but perhaps longterm Freddy Adu will be the man.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux See the transfer thread, I got a clip up of the goal he scored.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux The Villar Mir camp has never said they had Wenger. Not once. The press has said it. Villar Mir and Sainz have said "he fits the profile of what we're looking for, but we can't confirm nor deny anything." Obviously Wenger is their top target - but in fairness to Villar Mir, he has said very little about Wenger. In fact, last night De La Morena asked him abour Carvalho - "So, Wenger has okayed the signing of Carvalho, is that right?" ... And Villar Mir responded, "I am not saying anything about Wenger. Our future coach has approved the signing of Carvalho." Villar Mir and Sainz have offered the Castilla coaching position to Michel. Several candidates have. In Villar Mir's plan, the general manager would have some say in what happens at Castilla - including the creation of individual development plans for players in the cantera.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Fernando Gago just said that he is unaware of any supposed interest from Real Madrid although he is hopeful of it materialising. This exposes Sanz' campaign, however, it's not like we needed stories like this to realize he is a fraud. So far Adriano, Zambrotta and Gago have all denied they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid. These are 3 of the 4 players he promised to bring to the Bernabeu. Baldasano should bury himself in shame should he get less votes than Sanz. I'm quite suprised that Calderon is leading the polls so far. Palacios is supposed to be second favourite but he is considerablly far behind Villar Mir and Calderon.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux I want something new on the sporting side - specifically, I wand football people making football decisions. I don't want a president making those decisions. However, I don't want us completely pushing aside everything and anything related to Florentino Perez. That would be absurd in my opinion. We should change things, but not forget them. For example, all but one candidate has said they would keep the tours - but make them shorter and have the coach participate more freely in setting the schedule during the tours. Most candidates have acknowledged that they like the idea of a retractable roof on the Bernabeu; they all love the possibilities with Valdebebas; the potential of RMTV; and with TV right being negotiated real soon, they will do well to leverage the savy of the business team Florentino put in place.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux What polls? I think every poll I've seen has Villar Mir in front.
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux God, would you just STFU about it already. All your threads are just shameless promotion of American players, it's like your some slimey agent looking in the wrong place. There are currently no American players that are good enough to play for Real, and Bruce Arena is not gonna coach Real, so just get over it already. Jeeeeeeeeeez
Re: The Elections Thread - Part Deaux Cristiano Ronaldo is only going to Real Madrid if Mir is elected, hes made that quite clear, so all of them other candidates saying they will sign him are wrong.. i really hope Cristiano stays at United so i hope someone else wins and not Mir..
