@edcalvi congrats on the win against Canada!! Anderson Villagran is the MOTM with his 119th minute goal, and then the winning PK shot PS. please give Mexico a hard time.
Jamaica has advanced beating Haiti 2-1. This was a slog from what I gathered. Haiti went down a goal early and then a man down in the first half. They did manage to tie it up and lasted until the 75th when they went down another man and Jamaica finally broke through.
Pajaro Picon provided one https://m.ok.ru/live/4155833589415 Mayer Gil just scored a brace to make it 2-2.
What a disaster the offense masked how horrid this defense really is. Osorio was a big nothing this game after being a key during the group stage, this whole year every team has fallen short of where we hoped they would be.
How was this tourney set up so that one team could come in fresh and play against a team who have played 3 games in one week?
Well they beat us so I can’t really call them weaker. All that work and nothing to show for it again.
He should had made subs to alleviate the midfield and defense because they needed help big time. DR was running easily to our end without being challenged.
I’m tired being salvadoreño glad i enjoyed the beach today Didn’t watch the game but what a disappointment
Sadly I saw the signs , during the group stages and friendly tournaments, a lot of the goals El Salvador let in was due to either bad positioning or defending. The attack has clearly masked how bad the defence was. Sadly unless a massive changes happens in Salvadoran football from scouting, fitness, first and second division, lack of clubs academies, psychology etc. We will see the same results over and over again, as someone that watching anything related to El Salvador football since 1998
I figured we would struggle in the quarterfinals against Jamaica, and that DR wouldn’t be easy as they’ve been undefeated in their past matches, but I didn’t think we’d be knocked out this early. As we’ve seen since last year in the Olympic qualifiers, there’s no doubt scouting in USA and bringing in the expats made all the difference, but unfortunately it’s still not enough.
