They just announced changes to host stadiums. Looks like Marathon's stadium, El Yankel, will now host games.
A huge results swings our way to end the night with Guatemala defeating Panama 3-1. So the most we need is a draw to capture first place. Now we can lose as long as Panama doesn’t upset us in GD currently we are +7 to Panama +3, but F that I’m hoping we sweep. @edcalvi congrats on the bounce back.
Ordóñez does it again for Guatemala. If we maintain first place, we will be up against Dominican Republic in the Round of 16.
Well technically he wouldn’t be capped until an actual official competition. So you would need to wait until the NL starts up again.
Thank goodness for the Munir El Haddadi rule. It’ll curb the the amount of players being cap-tied to USMNT, even if they’ve only played a handful of games. I know Guatemala is grateful to have Rubio Rubin on their side. With that said, it won’t stop players being enticed by USMNT when they see a slight opportunity to be called up ie Nathan Ordaz, Jeremy Garay and Tomas Romero.

I take it Panama found out at halftime where they would end up.
Scoreless draw people upset but this was a good decision don’t need our guys expanding energy. Especially since our next opponent is coming in fresh as daisies since they haven’t played a game.
Can’t complain. Our next opponent is Dominican Republic. Should we win, we’ll face either Jamaica or Haiti the quarterfinals, and then most likely Mexico in the semifinals.
We always struggle against Caribbean nations, so it’ll be tough vs either Haiti or Jamaica. That game went pretty well all things considered. We led the group, and only a yellow with no injuries. Now we rest 3 days before a game vs an extremely fresh DR.
Great point, though Haiti got 10 shots off on Mexico . Either way, I'm sure Gerson Perez will do his homework
Well you do have to look like you care. Panama was trying in the first half. Then they had a talk and slowed down significantly in the second.
People are so short sighted. The main ones complaining are the media and they can go F off, we have a team that is actually getting the job done and they still find room to complain.
I find it funny bc it’s both that and haters of ES. I feel people loved seeing us fail, and now that this U20 is playing good soccer they’re a little unnerved. I will say, i was wondering how the boys would handle playing Panama again but they did their objective really well all things considered.
Yeah the important thing is they kept there composure. I just like that this squad vibes off each other and we aren’t reliant on one or two players like in past qualifiers. Prior to the Aruba game I think just about everyone on the NT has scored.
