Gotta be honest, soccer has been the last thing on my mind for the past two months with everything that’s been going on. I hadn’t been paying attention to Aussie soccer for that matter either.

All I know is that Olympics will be postponed to next year, as far as ES U-23 is concerned.

Gonna be interesting to see how Enrico Hernandez, Mayer Gil Hurtado and now Marcus Velado-Tsegaye all gel together.

I wonder if they'll look into Gilbert Fuentes, the players in 3rd division in Spain, and the players in Australia.

El Salvador U-20 defeated Honduras U-20 2-1 in the first of two friendly matches in Honduras. The next match will be on the 25th.

Recently-naturalised Mayer Gil Hurtado of FAS made his debut. Alejandro Henriquez is the younger brother of Jairo.

As for why Marcus Velado-Tsegaye did not play:

I thought they had Velado's paperwork done? Good on them not letting him played or like someone said it would turn out to be another Dustin situation. At least he can train with the national team and see how they play in person. The victory is good on them too. Then they have two matches with Nicaragua so this should be good warm up and getting back into rhythm matches before they compete in any official friendlies or competition matches.

ES U-20 drew 2-2 to Nicaragua U-20 today in the first of two friendlies.

Marcus Velado-Tsegaye finally received his Salvadoran passport and made his debut. He was subbed on in the second half, replacing naturalizado Mayer Gil Hurtado.

Daniel Arevalo, who plays in the youth system of Argentine club Lanus, was also called up today.

The second friendly is on Wednesday 16th of December.

ES drew 1-1 in the second friendly match against Nicaragua.

Mayer Gil Hurtado started, but Marcus Velado-Tsegaye did not play.

The latest addition to La Selecta, San Jose Earthquakes U-18 forward Brendan Zelaya ('03).

Born in California, he has previously represented USA U-16 with Jeremy Garay, Anthony Hernandez, Daniel Rios and Ronald Arevalo. Additionally, he has represented Mexico U-18 and currently at UCLA Bruins class of '25.

Daniel Rios of Houston Dynamo. Damian Alguera, Brandon Zelaya and Alejandro Cano of San Jose Earthquakes.

FESFUT’s US scouting is on overdrive as they organised trials in LA and Houston for U17 and U20 Salvadoran-American players.

Several belonged to the LAFC, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes and Oakland Roots academies. 195 players in LA alone is an impressive feat!

I couldn’t possibly name them all, but aside from the LAFC players:

Jordi Ayala - Barca Residency Academy
Alejandro Cano - San Jose Earthquakes
    Christian Coreas - LA Galaxy
    Lorenzo Hernandez - Oakland Roots
    Javier Mariona - Oakland Roots
    Diego Rodriguez - LA Galaxy
    Marvin Telule - Oakland Roots
Brandon Zelaya - San Jose Earthquakes

Do we have any updates on this team? I haven’t really seen a list or when they even play qualifiers

The U-20 roster has just been released, with 13 local players and 14 expats from MLS academies, US college and USL Championship. A few have made appearances with the senior ES side.

Surprise inclusions are Jeremy Garay, Javier Mariona (grandson of Salvador) and Carlos Borja (son of Carlos Castro Borja).

I notice Ronald Arevalo of HB Koge and Nathan Ordaz of LAFC both did not make the cut.

I saw that list on Twitter right after i messaged
The big one for me is Nathan Ordaz. His LAFC teammates got called up, and he has been the one getting decent minutes for LAFC out of all of them with the first team. Think it’s an LAFC pull instead of an ES snub
