The team will be playing a friendly this coming Tuesday against US-El Salvador (special team made up of Salvadoran Americans aged from 17 to 22). A squad list for the U17's has yet to be released.
It'll be interesting to see how the American based players go compared to our young guys (i.e. see if any of them can win themselves a spot in one of our junior national teams). I'm more interested in seeing if the FESA abroad boys (Peña, Ayala, Arteaga, Alejo, Mendoza and Barahona) get a call up though. And more importantly, if they do then it'll be good to see if they standout above the rest. To be honest though i've got my doubts about this squad considering the poor results that they've gotten in the past (5-0 v Guate, 2-0 v Panama and 2-0 v CR last year). Hopefully they've done a lot of work since then though and can put in a good effort at the qualifiers. It's also worth noting that qualifying to the championship finals this year will seemingly be easier then in years past as UNCAF now has four slots compared to the three we've had previously. So i think it's safe to say it's expected we make it. Not only because of the extra spot, but because we've only missed the championship final once since 1999 (that being during the last cycle in 2008/09).

Liking the fact we were up 2-0 and that both Peña and Alejo got on the score sheet. Obviously not great that we let that slip though. I really hope we can get our act together soon, cause although i know this might be a little premature, but at this point things don't look all that promising with this squad going forward. On a side note, it'll be interesting to see if Aguilar gets a run or at least invited to train with the U20's. He's not an international like the rest of the US/ES side and scored in both of their games so far (a good effort considering they've been training together for three months and he was just added a few days ago).
