This is so ridiculous. I wish they had kept Lara with the youth teams and never moved him to the national team we could have made some real progress with him. The alternate reality where Roca never leaves and Lara runs the youth teams has us in a completely different place
El Salvador have been placed in Group G, Alongside Honduras, Haiti and Guyana. Thoughts? External Link: https://www.elgrafico.com/futbol/Se...rivales-para-el-Premundial-20190219-0007.html
I am still confused by the format change. It seems like the top 3 in each group advance to the ko rounds. However groups A-D where purposefully made easier. Not really a fan of the format. I would prefer the format they had in 2015 where it was two large groups that kept getting dwindled down.
From what I read, Group A to D only the top team get out to the knockout routine, while Group E to Group H the top three side progress to the knockout round
Good start for the u17 side they won 4-0 in their first game against Guyana. This result helps almost move them to the next round since even third place moves on however it would be best to ran higher since it makes the next opponent easier. Next game is against Haiti who beat Honduras today. It with be on May 3
The second game was a disaster El Salvador 1-4 Haiti Guyana 0-3 Honduras Next game is versus Honduras May 5
Third game El Salvador 2-1 Honduras Our leading scorer so far is Emerson anyone know about him he has scored in every game so far. He scored twice in the first game against Guyana. All I could find is that he is in the Alianza reserves hopefully El Zarco develops him. He might have been called for a CCL game but I am not sure about that We will face Jamaica in KO round May 8th. Jamaica beat Bermuda and lost there other two games to Mexico and T&T
We’ve been dealt a bad hand despite finishing in second place. If we defeat Jamaica then we will most likely face Mexico.
I was looking at the squad list and noticed the player named “Alejandro Ismael Henriquez Ferrufino”. This guy is Jairo Henriquez’s younger brother.
El Salvador 2-1 Jamaica, this team is actually pretty decent but the defense is very unreliable at times.
Mexico defeated El Salvador 5-1 Mexico, USA, Canada and Haiti all qualify for the 2019 U-17 World Cup.
Emerson scored in every game except the Jamaica game that is fairly impressive hopefully he has the ability to develop
