I honestly cannot believe what's up with this guy. After that spitting incident in Cardiff 18 months ago, you'd think he would have learnt a thing or two about behaviour on the field. Reading the news article, I was actually hoping he'd be banned for about 2 months.

What a difference two years make. You all recall how he wowed us in the 2002 ANC and the WC in Korea/Japan. I honestly thought he was destined for big things in the Premiership after signing with Liverpool. He was a part of the 2002 WC All-Star Team, Pele chose him as one of the Top 100, or was it 500, of all time (that selection was a joke anyway :D ). He was also African FOY two years running. It appears that since then, nothing has gone right for the guy, on and off the field.

I really hope he straightens up his act, because he's not that great a footballer, and he's doing no one any favours with such idiotic actions.

seriously men i dont understand whats happening, he has to take up this matter like a man. i dont understand why an african would behave like this this is not the character of an african.i understand that some of this fans are aggrrevative and maybe racist .but he should take it like a man.he is one of africas best players and i think he has a reputation to keep up with bearing the fact he his a senegalise and an african in general.i hope he changes and learns to deal with it another way.

I've noticed he's looked heavier and heavier as the months have passed in the Premiership. Too much of a lifestyle change in England perhaps?

Yeah, there are no racist English fans. Just ask Dwight Yorke.

And I wonder what the racist fans have to do with El-Stupid Diouf spitting on another professional?

After WC2002 I became a fan of his. Always made a point to catch his EPL games.

Even before this last incident you could see it coming. It was like he wasn't into the game unless he was wound up. When his head was in the game he played great. Yet it was hard to appreciate his game because of his antics. The Boro' game stands out the most.

I'm still pulling for the guy but he is damn frustrating.

Yea he's a great player but his antics will cost him dearly.

he needs to play for a side that allows him the freedom that Senegal allow him as a full-blown offensive force. i'm thinking some league or club where good strikers are at a premium. i can't see an English manager allowing him full reign in the offensive third..... perhaps a move back to France would be appropriate or a switch to Arsenal to play alongside Thierry Henry? i know he might not fit in to Arsenal's ground based gameplan, but his explosiveness could be appreciated by a club that can often struggle to find chances when teams focus on exclusively shutting down the Flying Frenchmen. i know that's not realistic given Arsenal's already well-stocked stable but i think he would be successful there as a substitute when Arsene feels like mixing things up. i'd like it if someone could offer up their opinion on other clubs that would serve as good environments for El Hadji

It's frustrating to watch a player of his caliber fall off like this. He was so entertaining to watch on WC'02. At least his countryman Papa Bouba-Diop has been on top form in the EPL. He's scored some clutch goals for Fulham.

Scored today, but heard he SPAT again.

He must come from the tribe in Ace Ventura in which Spitting is a sign of likeness.

Can't he keep his saliva in his mouth, he should be banned for a at 3 games after this one! REPEAT OFFENDER!

    Whoa!!
Can anyone say comeback!! Yesterday's Bolton - Arsenal game had my man taking the honours for MoM. He was outstanding, i am happy for him. He and Okocha ran the Arse midfield and defenders ragged and ensured that Bolton took the max points for the game.

E-H D was all over Kolo Toure, I would say he had the Ivorian in his back pocket.

    Good game.

Diouf scored again to lead Bolton in a win against Birmingham......The penalty was controversial but El-Hadji really looks like he has recaptured his old form....

Was vs Blackburn. Not controversial at all.

It was as bad as his dive against Uruguay in WC2002. Maybe even worse in his blatant attempt to hide nothing and then his attempt to laugh at and show up the fans as he was leaving the pitch.
He actually could have (should have?) been red carded in the first half for a blatant elbow.

The ref had clear views of both incidents and he really made himself look bad (the ref - Diouf obviously could care less). These incidents were both very clear and he had a good look at both of them.

Want to know how bad the dive was? Even Diouf's teamamtes, the ones with the guts to talk about it (and his caoch), admitted it was nothing but a blatant dive and they were lucky.
One of his teammates, Gary Speed, went as far as to say it was wrong (but he'll take the 3 points) and that he doesn't know how such things can be stopped.

Mind you, I am not a big fan of either team, but this was really blatant. The diving to me wasn't that big of an issue becuase FIFA is run by a bunch of prehistoric cowards who usually don't have the will to deal with such things.

His inciting of the crowd and the elbow were preyty bad.

Also, his coach was smart enough to take him right after the dive and admitted Diouf was very poor and the penalty was all he had done for them that day. Agree wit that.

BTW - Keeper saved the shot and he put in the rebound.

This guy obviously has some real issues. Can't wait for the next thing. Hate to say it, but sooner or later someone is just going to take him out and try to finish his career. It seems inevitable.

The problem with Diouf at Liverpool is that Houllier just stuck him out on the wing and never let him play in a true striking position. It would have been interesting to see how he would have done if he had been used correctly.
