The front 4 are depending on their individual skill. There is little or no off the ball movement. No 2 man games on the flanks. The team honeslty seems clueless against decent competition.

I could write an essay on the lack of tactical game in the final third. It is really amateur stuff.
The freedom that Carlo gives his players can also backfire on you, and that is what we are seeing in the big games.

Against mediocre or weak competition, the team wins on individual skill alone. Once you need some level of tactics, they look hopeless.

Can we take a minute to give Ascencio his flowers?

He was absolutely a beast today and proved that he deserves to start for the rest of the season.

We should terminate Alaba's contract by mutual consent and give Ascencio the number 4 jersey.

Write that essay, should be good reading, all the teams with tactical know how are, at least currently, behind us in the table, despite our major injury crises at the back, how is that possible, they "know" how to beat the good teams but flounder against the weak ones?, what good is that? certainly can't win trophies that way

Only thing going on for caro was that 7 point lead Vs Barca and now that is gone too. It will be interesting if he we can win against city who are actually a huge threat with their style of play.

The best football the team played this season was without Vinicius...it is what it is .Mbappe,Rodrygo and Jude had a very good understanding with each other and played with a lot more freedom and movement ,they played in their prefered positions...

Now Rodrygo plays where he shoudnt,Jude is an average 8 something people are afraid to say he is attacking n 10 second striker

Mbappe had so much more space without Vinni, now not so much, nobody moves without the ball, awful system, awful front 4 awul Carlo....thew away the league lead to play galactico team something that has nevr worked in Madrid and always led to our downfall......

With our weakest defense in ages Ateltico made only 2 shots on target when one of them came from a made up penalty.

Asensio is just a monster CB. this dude is only 21 and played a little more than 1K minutes and it looks like he is a 28 CB that playing that is already playing for for decade.
Fran proved today he must start each game over Mendy.
Ceballos with a great game and showing passing stats like Kroos.

I really liked how Asencio, Ceballos, Rodrygo and Fran played in this game, they all have to start against City too.

Ceballos was showing glimpses of this from Carlo's first season alraedy but didn't have the chance to play regularly. The way he plays now, he deserves to be a starter. So much energy going back and forward and so many balls he stole up in the field. Also arrived just on time on several occasions to help the defense in the first half.

Fran has improved defensively. He anticipates moves and passes better and better. His major weakness is aerial ability from crosses.
Ceballos was immense last night. Won a lot of balls with high pressure and was there to cover counter attacks many times.
Also it looked to me that Carlo tried something strange - moving Fede several times during the game as RB, while Lucas was playing like an AM. Didn't produce anything meaningfull last night to be honest.

Asencio should start every game this season, with 1 or 2 rests in between. Consistently gives us dominant performances, he's just very very good. If this is his level, he can get very very far as a Real Madrid quality player!

Disappointing result, feels like we lost 2 points.

If anything, we will remember this derby as a game when a new star was born: Raul Asencio.

I don't think anyone can make a legitimate case why he wouldn't be.

Jude got 3 free headers, he could have scored at least 1. Bummer.

It was way before this game. Only blind Carlo nuthuggers where defending him being benched. Anyone with a decent footballing iq could see his quality.

If Ancelotti had played him instead of running Rudiger to death Asencio could have had a lot more game experience at top level and Rudiger could have been saved for important matches.

I don’t remember you complaining about Carlo when he won almost every possible trophy for us.
At the end, it’s the coaches’ decision and his head on the line.
I trust a specialist like Carlo and don’t give a flying puck about the couch specialists like you.

Lol you remember me doing so..

I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I tend to always focus on what I/We can do better and how I/We can optimize...

I have for years banged the drum that Carlo has stayed with favorites and injury has saved us at significant points to help us win some of those trophies

There is always room for improvement, no doubt.
But when people who achieved nothing in their lives call an accomplished coach an idiot just because he doesn’t play his favorite player is a bit too much.
