Not sure what to expect. Our level has been below average all season, even with the wins. Barca have been flying high, but watching them against Bayern: they were giving away acres of space and chances. Just so happened that Bayern couldn’t finish to save their life whilst Raphinha scored with every attempt. Need to up our level considerably. More of that awful defending and overall play and it is a guaranteed big loss. Here is hoping (then again I’ve been hoping for better all season and yet to see a great performance )
We've all seen our fair share of clasicos where rcent form went out the window and the team that won used it as a way to break out of a huge crisis. Both teams are in a relatively good shape, coming off wins. It's not about who plays, but how they play.
I think it can be good for us that Barca are coming to this game in 1st position and after 4-1 vs BM. Our players know that and hopefully will play seriously from the get go
I picked up teaching a credit recovery course this weekend so I'll miss the game. Enjoy the game. Hopefully Vini and Mbappe bring the heat. I have a feeling Jude will turn up with his first goal.
we pulled smash and grab jobs against Barca last season in both matches last season, even though we were arguably the better team outside of those games. It’s going to be about the matchups. No arujo to mark Vinny, and Mbappe is always a menace to Barca and Cubarsi and Martinez aren’t exactly a wall. We have to have intensity to work off the ball and be crisp with our passes with speed. Mental concentration has to be there. I see us winning this big or Barca with a smash and grab.

This lineup shows that Carlo wants counter attacks with high speed, and let Barca control the ball more. Without Modric/Kroos/Cabellos no one in the 11 starters can keep the game more Slow & Organised

I was hoping to have the only creative midfielder we have to start to utilise the Barca highline with precise through balls.. but he's too old to start i think

Intensity and focus defensively and aggressive in attack please. One thing I'd love to see is our guys winning their individual duels in the midfield. Jude, Fede and Cama shouldn't hesitate to take on Caso, Fermin and Pedri every chance they get....get past a man will greatly open things up. We need to dominate them physically in that regard. Cama to help Mendy on Lamine, Fede to help Vasquez on Raphinha and hopefully Jude won't let Pedri breathe. On form they are favorites but Vini, Mbappe and Jude all have a great record against Barca. We have the chance to pour some cold water on them tonight. A win for us would be a big psychological blow to them given they're currently "on top of the world" in their eyes. oh and.....take shots! ...their keeper is suspect.... Hala Madrid
