i still can't get over Lech losing... they shouldn't be struggling with some of this opposition even though they are in Europe. they are much better than this, they should struggle against the better sides in the league while they are in Europe, but Arka?!?!? wtf

yeah very inconsistent so far, hopefully they will be on form in the UEFA Cup, would be nice to make the group stage. as for the league, there is still plenty of time to make up ground, all is not lost in the first few games of the season, though the pit will get quite deep if they also lose to Wisla in the next round.

i know for a fact that our 1st side's starting backline is a lot more solid than what our young guys put out there against Slask. even the difference in quality in the midfield will make heaps of difference in defending. it'll be interesting though to say the least :D

Tomorrow I am going to a match Arka - LKS (first match in my live).
I think that Arka will win and it will be fighting for European cup. The club has the good coach

umm... personally i don't see Arka fighting for a European cup spot this year. although they have had some impressive results so far. when it comes in terms of power i'd probably have to say it would be

    Lech Poznan
    Wisla Krakow
    Polonia Warszawa
    Legia Warszawa
    GKS Belchatow
    Slask Wroclaw

in no particular order... then there will be a battle below them that i think will include Arka, Odra, Lechia, etc

yea, GKS and Slask could be in that lower tier i mentioned with Arka, Odra, Lechia, etc. we'll have to see if Gargula and GKS can figure things out. Gargula is starting to become fit and if GKS heats up they could easily challenge for a top 4-5 spot  also, although Slask are the new boys they have made some great moves, and are playing well right off the start. which can only lead to good things even if they cool down or hit a bad spell. they are winning matches many think they should have drawn, which i think in the end will pay off in the long haul

money is definitely part of the problem, the 63 mln euro puts us in 12th place in terms of revenue if i read it correctly, and it does make it very difficult to compete with the top leagues. however, last i checked we were 27th in the UEFA league rankings, and also im not sure how much romania spend, i figure not much more than we if that, and yet they have been able to put together at least a couple of good euro seasons.
eventually im sure money will be there, but if the organizational and technical, and player attitude issues arent fixed it will still not change things by much.

Romania is the ideal for many countries. whether or not we could get ourselves into what they achieve is a whole other story. part of it would help if Lech and Wisla get take care of business at home against their respective sides next Thursday, i have confidence in both sides

yeah both teams in the group stage would be awesome for our chances of climbing back towards additional euro cup spots

technically the last good year we had in Europe will be erased after this year for the coefficient... so we have to do well otherwise we'll drop about 5-12 spots. so we need to do fairly well just to keep the coefficient up. then we can focus on moving forward, it'll take a while though to build up enough coefficient points for an extra Uefa Cup spot... it may take 2-3 extra great years just for that one spot
