Soccer Savanna Rugratz Jersey.JPG Soccer Tallahasse Scorpions Jersey.JPG I have two jerseys and a league media guide. I also traded for a large collection of what i thought were newspaper articles but they were photo copied in black and white and are hard to read.

Awesome Pics. I can't say I payed much attention to those leagues at the time. I'm very interested in the arenas they played in the uniforms and photos or video of those games. Research for a film project

The one thing I remember about the EISL was that they played 3 period games (like hockey) instead of 4 quarters. In an interview by Rich Paschette, a league official (commish?) stated that the fans in the South were familiar with the game-play of hockey, so it made sense to go with 3 periods.

I always thought that to be an odd statement, as the South would certainly be more familiar with 4 quarters of football as opposed to 3 periods of hockey. o_O

I may be wrong, but I think that the NASL used to have 3 periods in its early indoor leagues.

The NASL had several indoor tournaments, but when it went to actual league play in 1979, the game more closely resembled what the MISL had put forth the year before. But the 1975 tournament, at least, featured three 15-minute periods of play.

Hey DC United - I played Indoor in the SISL (1989/90 - Amarillo Challengers) and USISL (1991/92 - Phoenix Hearts). I have the 89/90 and 91/91 Media Guides. Actually the cover of the 89/90 Media Guide has 17 team logos. I scanned both covers as PDF's, but cannot figure out how the hell to copy/paste to this thread. Send me an email to smax1168@aol.com and I will send you the scans. Long Live the SISL!!!
