Waterford Utd 4 St Patrick's Athletic 2 Shamrock Rovers 1 UCD 0 Waterford are joint top now, not bad after that terrible start. Rovers get their first win after their slow start to the season.
Derry City 0-1 Drogheda Utd Cork City 3-2 Bohemians Shelbourne 3-2 Longford Town Late winner puts Shels clear at the top with 3 wins from 3. Cork also get a late goal in a good win over champions Bohs.
A couple of former Connecticut Wolves went on loan to Waterford Utd last season. One (Seth Lilburn) played a couple of games, scored a goal and then came home. The other guy never settled. Both thought the play would improve greatly with the move to summer play. Has it improved?
I would say so, interest is definitely up which can only lead to an improvement and Crowe, a Bohemians striker, has made the first draft of an Irish squad, if he got capped he'd be the first EL player to be play in Lansedown in well over a decade, he got capped away to greece a few months back but only after 15 players dropped out, so that's a boost to the league.
Early figures suggest attendence is up on last season. As for the quality of the football I can't comment as I don't get to watch any abroad. Try going to an Irish pub and asking them are they showing the national league match or the english premiership! I reckon it will benefit greatly especially during the summer months.
