Slovan Liberec, Mlada Boleslav, Slavia Praha, Teplice, Viktoria Plzen, Banik Ostrava, Brno, and Tescoma Zlin Czech clubs have always shown a strong interest in the Inter-Toto Cup. Back before the Inter-Toto Cup was reworked, it wasn't uncommon to see three Czech clubs enter the competition.
Liberec should probably qualify for Champion's League and two others should make the UEFA cup, so there will probably be a few who drop out. It would be nice to see a bunch of Czech teams make the UEFA cup and actually do something there.
I'm not sure either. They were one of the best defensive teams this year, and yet they give up four goals in the last 32 minutes. Liberec enter the competition in the 2nd round and will play the winner of the tie between Tobol Kostanay (Kazakhstan) and Zestaponi (Georgia).
Hi, Liberec would have got into the Uefa Cup proper if the silly rule of runners up in the cup get in if the winners are already in europe. In this case Jablonec. I think it is a terrible rule.
That is a UEFA rule, not a CMFS rule. That is how West Ham ended up in the UEFA cup last year, they were 2nd in the FA Cup and Liverpool was in Champion's League.
Yeah, and look how well they did in the Uefa Cup last season. The same goes for Scotland representative last year Gretna, and this forthcoming season with Dunfermline. This issue needs to be addressed if Uefa want the best teams in their competitions not teams who are to be fair, depriving their leagues of a better representative to compete in the competition. Would you agree?
I wish they would bring back the Cup Winner's Cup, but since they merged that with the UEFA Cup, they made the mess. Not that they really care, to the powers that be at UEFA, the UEFA Cup means nothing, they make their money on Champion's League and keep the UEFA Cup around as a way to keep some of the smaller Associations happy.
