Probably see Casemiro and maybe Rashford rested with Bayindir and Amrabat given their first starts.

Finally got a decent CM to put alongside Casemiro...and he's playing LB. Great.

Can't argue with the lineup. We need to rotate heavy and thats what we did. I'm surprised Eriksen isnt in there since he was rest at the weekend. Must've either picked up and injury or ETH has realized he's useless now. Would be nice to see Gore or Danny get a cameo, if just to give starers further rest.

    Martial

I wish you could have rested Casi but I think the hope is get a little bit of a week come out early. Move Dalot to LB, Lindelof to RB and Case to the bench.

Yeah maybe Gore can get a cameo and left back or if we are doing well straight into the midfield. I am more worried about Mount.

Will be interesting to see how Amrabat plays. If ETH persists with the wingbacks tucking into midfield, it may suit him.

So far, tons of possession but not chance creation. Nobody seems willing to dribble at a defender or make a creative pass outside of Pellestri. Mount doing his hiding act again. He’s barely touched the ball.

Henderson doing what he does. Gets hurt standing still and is coming off.

    1-0

Good bit of play. Cross field pass by Mount to Dalot who cuts it back for Garnacho.

Should be a penalty there. Nothing given. No surprise.

Edit: 2-0 Casemiro. Unmarked header off a corner.

Agreed, 100% penalty but of course nothing. Good header by Case. 3 in the last week for him.

Your young cats are doing well. Food for thought for ETH. Pellistri can run his socks off. Unlucky not to win a penalty IMO.

Amrabat looks really good. Tons of energy and loves to get on the ball and move it quickly. Whenever we get in possession he’s sliding into midfield to get on the ball. It’s crazy how much easier it is to progress from the back when we have options.

Mount started slow but grew into the game. He wants to get rid of the ball as soon as he gets it and I think it catches a lot of our players off guard because they’re used to slow, languid possession.

    Martial for #3.

Been impressed by Amrabat. As you said, tons of energy and getting around well.

Casemiro is our second most offensive midfielder. he shouldn't be but he is.

i also think he's somewhat underrated defensively (like how easily he's being written off) but that's a whole separate discussion.

the balance looked better today, even Maguire was alright.

£160m+ of wingers can't beat a man but £9.5m of wingers can. football is funny like that sometimes

    Amrabat stats today:

    100% tackles won
    96% pass accuracy
    91 touches
    78/81 passes completed
    5/6 long passes completed
    5/6 duels won

Exactly what we hoped we were getting when we signed him. Possession monster that plays with energy, likes getting on the ball, and can put a tackle in. Should upgrade our midfield massively.

I thought Mount also looked good and direct. His crosses and corners were dangerous and caused problems

He almost didn't have a position in the first half. I mean he was really roaming but I guess when we're up against the side we should be dominant against the guy like him should be free to roam.

We might not need Mainoo guys

    Case/Amrabat Mount/Erikson
    Hannibal/Bruno

I really am impressed with Hannibal. Not start a material but he's definitely played his way into getting more time against lower level competition and getting some 20-25 minutes off the bench.

This doesn't push Case out but allows us to better manage his minutes and pick the games he plays in. Which would be for me all the games against the top six sides and champions League.

Well absolutely need Mainoo. McT is a zero. We look better already with two defensive mids. Cas and Amrabat can’t play every game.
