Didn't get to watch this as it was only on Paramount+ in the US. It looks pretty bad. One less competition for our mass of players to play in.

If anything, maybe this proves that the lineup Maresca has settled on for the Prem is the best one.

Enzo and Veiga in the midfield is hilarious. Enzo is so not suited for this league.

Mudryk - Felix - KDH as attackers. Jesus Christ. Boondoggles across the board.

And you didn't mention the defense which is just a comedy of recruitment errors

Disasi - should be nowhere near Chelsea in any capacity. Offload asap
Basishille - has shown something at times so don't mind him staying around, but also too error prone to trust with anything important. Should also be let go imo
Tosin - early days but he'll never be more than a backup.

All while we have Trev + Alfie out on loan, and have sold off Guehi, Tomori etc in recent years. A disaster

Couldn't agree more. if you leave them on the bench, they dont get better and bringing them in late to defend leads does not fill one with confidence.

Would kill for Trev as depth/starter right now. He's better than any of our bench guys.

That said, he's only played 3 games for Palace so far. Yikes.

He had an injury to start the year. He’s started since he’s been healthy

and a goal today (only saw the match off and on so not sure if the 2 cfc cb's contributed to the 2 given up)
    ..........
I think this loss was mostly on Enzo Sr, who was very slow to change tactics when it was blatantly clear they were rubbish against Howe's adjustments and with the players he selected, Dews-Hall has to be the worst trade ever and Enzo jr still sucks

The League Cup seems less than meaningless to clubs.

But given the amount of players we have to keep happy, I thought it would be worth more effort to keep the B-team happy and useful, and frankly a trophy even the lesser one (apart from that Europy gig) would buy Enzo and the new owners a bit of time and goodwill. And we have not been a Club to dismiss any Cups. And though I was disappointed in Enzo sr.'s approach I am not discontent about the League season so far, though I have wondered about his adaptability and time taken to use subs and change approach on occasion.

A win tomorrow though and I will find it hard to out do Brock for awhile, as was my seasons goal. And I have found the A-Team with Lavia better at mixing short, medium, line splitting passes, and long passes out of the back.
