Please, no. One of two washed-up Germans with curses built into their last names (the other, of course, is Jancker). For those who thought that Gazza was too controversial, here's one reason why we shouldn't go for Effenberg. http://football.guardian.co.uk/continental/story/0,8018,686518,00.html Dave
yuck, he sounds like a punk. I don't know anything about his playing ability though - any experts out there?
Wise thing that -- bashing the unemployed when he doesn't have a job himself! Sounds like a total loser.
In his day, in the early-to-mid 90s, he was a decent playmaker. About as stereotypically German as you can get- good passer, physically tough, some clutch goals. Dave
That's not what we really need, is it? From what I've been seeing on the boards, reading from the match reports and hearing the webcasts, it sounds like we need some good goal scorers. Sounds like our defense and midfield is okay - would you agree with that?
Well, the last thing any team is a petulant punk who thinks he's Lothar Matteus but never fully delivered on it. Dave
Stefan Effenberg is one of the last players I would ever want to see play at DC United. I hate him enough to seriously consider changing my seat so I can heckle him from behind the bench. I would bring signs to every game reminding him of his "illustrious" past and how he was whistled out of stadiums all across Europe including being whistled and heckled by Germans while playing for the National Team. The guy is bad news! He has a reputation for being a cancerous player and petulant on the pitch. Imagine a horrid combination of Ruiz, Hernandez, Petke, Serna, Diallo and Valderama! That is the monster that is Stefan Effenberg! Not only that but do expect him to be more productive that Lazy Matthaeus...
So how do you really feel about him, and don't hold back, we really want to know. What I want to know is why didn't Ray try and sign Rivaldo, who was available on a free from Barca.
EFF THAT! EFF that S***! Where does this stuff come from? Is it just completely made up? At least have some basis for your statement...
You really don't want me to let loose on Effenberg! Really! (Think Bruce Banner pleading with people to not make him angry.)
And Denis Wise is out of a contract as well. Doesn't he have that "creative spark" that Hudson keeps talking about. How's that for an answer to Gazza?
If you mean beating the crap out of teammates than yes he is "creative". But seeing Dennis Wise and creative in the same sentence is like watching Gazza turn down a drink offer.
