Edu & Bedoya: St Johnstone vs. Rangers 5/13 (R)

Edu and Bedoya get the start in the final game of the season. Boca was allowed to return stateside ahead of this game. A disappointing season for Rangers will at least end with news that a buyer was found. The game is on foxsoccer.tv.

 

Bedoya takes down a long ball with a man on his back and lays it back to Aluko. Aluko plays a return ball to Bedoya who shakes his man in the box and fires way over the bar. Bedoya is playing as a tucked in right midfielder.

 

McCulloch with a wonderful first time finish on the half volley from 19 yards out to put Rangers up 1-0.

Edu has done well to break pressure a couple times, but hasn't been too noticeable otherwise. He played a ball to Aluko in the midfield that put Aluko under pressure and lead to a turnover. Bedoya has been quite as well. He popped up on the left side of the box to play a ball into McCulloch whose shot was blocked. Bedoya also had a shot from the top of the box deflected for an easy save for the goalkeeper and had a woeful finish from 6 yards out when he hit the ball softly wide while being unmarked. He was "bailed out" by the offside flag on that one.

St. Johnstone has had some stretches in which they've controlled the play, especially in the beginning of the half. Rangers ended the half the stronger side though.

 

Edu uses his strength to hold off a defender and take a ball down out of the air and plays Aluko in on goal. Aluko finishes and Rangers lead 2-0.

 

Bedoya is played into the right side of the box and plays a good ball across the penalty area that an unmarked Aluko taps in from 2 yards out.

I think the match trackers are wrong on the first goal. I though the assist came from Aluko.

 

Aluko gets his hat trick.

4-0 Rangers

Bedoya gets onto a ball in the box and dribbles around, but can not get his shot off. He lays it off to Aluko whose shot is blocked.

Also, I believe the commentator called Bedoya a Spaniard at one point.

 

Bedoya gets onto a cross unmarked at the penalty spot. He kicks the bouncing ball into the ground and it bounces over the goal. Bedoya comes up clutching his ankle but continues.

Bedoya subbed off in the 82nd minute or so. He also picked up a yellow in the 48th minute.

 

Rangers win 4-0

They will end the season in 2nd but will not be in Europe due to the off the field problems.
