    Holy *#*#*#*#.

If that's a full tear, he's probably out for at least six months. Maybe he'll be back in August or so?

"That really sucks" doesn't begin to describe it. I'm sorry for Buddle, and I'm sorry for you guys.

Man what a shame, he cant seem to get a break. I wish he could stay injury-free long enough to make the kind of impact many believe he is capable of. When healthy on the pitch, he is a joy to watch.

Too soon to panic on this, I think if it was a full tear there'd be a lot more coverage.

He sat out the UAG scrimmage with what was listed as an achilles injury, so this is not new today. It's not like one could even walk with a truly ruptured achilles, so this should have been reported earlier had it been the case.

I'm guessing it's a partial tear that will need weeks of rest, not six months like Brian Ching's.

    damn...

six months is awfully optimistic on a full tear...JOB "strained" each of his over the past 2 years and missed at least 6 mnths each time...

If this is all true, now Ned/Fozzy have their built-in excuse for this season.

I'd just like to be the first one to predict that this will provoke a panic response and a stupid move.

    Fire Andrulis.

    Can I get a witness?

Be careful, I have said it before, I am NOT Brian Carroll's mother....

I did not get the impression, however that Buddle could not walk, wouldn't that be a good thing (good in the big picture, as opposed to it being a "total" tear)?

you comments are more than taken care of by others, you haven't posted anything worth more than a pile of shit in ages...

and your mod status baffles many of us.

Horrible news for Edson, Columbus and the Olympic team. :( Best of luck on your recovery Edson. May it be swift and complete. We're all pulling for you.

Maybe the Olympic team can "win one for the Buddler" or something.

It's serious enough for him to be replaced, but not serious enough to get a ton of coverage from Crew sources. My guess would be just a strain. A full tear would've been reported straight away. There's still almost two months before opening day, more than enough time to recover from a strain. Doesn't matter too much, because in my opinion our first major allocation will be used at striker.

What he said, goes double from me.

Sorry to hear about it, guys. Buddle's an incredible talent, and he'll be very, very hard to replace.

And I'm with Zak-- hopefully, it's only a strain. Edson Buddle's one of those players I don't mind paying to watch play. And play well.

While horrible news, this is really worse for the Olympic team and Buddle than it is for the Crew. Testo (who will surely be signed now) is a gamer, and with him, Cunningham, and your rebuilt defense and midfield Columbus should still be able to make the playoffs easily. Just about the time Buddle would be coming back to spark a cup run. Plus, the seriousness of the injury isn't even really known yet, so no reason to panic either way.

Is there still no official news of this? If so, what's all this noise about the end of the world. If I made screen name and called myself "Cunningham's Mom", and posted that my son got his dick chewed off by a Saigon whore, would you believe it?

I do so hope this is not true. I did a full tear of my Achillies 18 months ago. Let me tell you, it it a terrible injury. People can come back from everything else nowadays (knee, etc.) but I'm not convinced a full recovery from one of those is possible.

Edson is a tremendous player... my favorite US player, and in my estimation a future starter in a top 4 league. This would suck bad.
