Mo should have never acquired this player from NY. He was a bust in NY and Columbus and he looks to not impress in Toronto. Mo should release him and sign a real forward, who will actually make an effort throughout the game to help his team. Edson is a USL D2 player at best. Radzinski of Fulham would be an ideal pick for Toronto. I would also look into bringing Eddie Lewis (Leeds) over to help the midfield. Eddie is still a quality player and he will definitely bring some life into the lifeless offense Toronto has right now. Kasey Keller should be considered as well. His team looks to be relegated too. Sutton could learn a thing or two, three, four from Keller. He could win some games on his own. You're right Sir. It's not his cup of Red Bull to be a sub. He needs a good supporting cast around him to score goals like he did in DC. Now he's running around like a chicken.I am not too happy seeing English style of coaching in MLS. Look at FCD, REVS and TFC, they are the most boring teams you can find.
Yes to the Revs, but a huge no to FCD. I'm a homer, yer, but FCd does not play a British style of game. They have the most Latin influence of any team in the leagueand play like it.
OP, With that line-up, you'd be over the SI limit and way over the cap (by at least a $1 million or so. Hell, you'd have to trade everything TFC has just to get the allocations for Lewis and Keller alone, not to mention the allocation to pick up Radzinski. But, yeah, the original idea is sound; Buddle hasn't impressed anybody in a long time, and he just isn't cutting it for TFC.
I think Radzinski would come ina a couple of years but not yet as he is still having a pretty good career in England
Those 2 misguided balls into the middle on Saturday really took the wind out of my sails. Both passes to the wrong team, he was scared of the ball, he was acting as though it was a hot potato. I think 1 more performance like that and Mo will pull the trigger.

Radz has always been the most logical bigger (Canadian) name that might come to Toronto. His Canadian-ness would be very valuable. Do we have enough money to bring him home though? I’m not sure. This team needs more, better Canadians. Two in the starting 11 isn’t going to cut it. To me, TFC will play at its highest potential when there are six or seven Canadians in the starting line-up. And I can think of a Canuck in Houston that I’d love to see in red and who would be a good start towards that goal…. As for Buddle...others have alreadymade the point. He hasn't done much. He's a warm body, but that's about it.
DeRoserio and Radzinski would be so frikken sweet. Who could we give the boot to though to make room? Esky is too much a great guy and will play amazing once he has decent support...Dichio is...well Dichio! lol. I love Dichio, but we'll need more then a shiney bald head and the words "wanker!" every 3 minutes to win a championship. Fulham will be relegated, heres our best chance to grab Radzinski! Cmon guys the man we should be chasing is robbie fowler, radzinski would not leave england as he is still playing well (oh and fulham will definetly stay up) We need to be realistic, robbie is out of contract and still has at least two years left and he is gauranteed to score goals. He is a legend!!
Don't use Buddle as a scapegoat - punting the ball up the field to the forwards and asking them to go it alone is not how we're going to score goals. The midfield has been missing from the start of the season and yes Buddle hasn't exactly set the world on fire, but there's a half dozen other players I'd show the door before Buddle.
We'll take him here in Chicago. How about a trade of draft picks and/or a defender to be named in exchange for Buddle? Chicago only has 3 Forwards in their roster. Hence, if your team is disgusted in Buddle's performance, this may be your team's opportunity to get something for him....
One of my mates and I have taken to waving a fist in the air saying "Buuhdddle!" (kind of like Sgt Whasshisface used to do to Gomer Pyle), everytime soemthing goes wrong on the pitch, whether Buddle was involved or not. I've not been happy with Buddle's play but I think we should give him a little more time. He's improved bit by bit over the past few games. I think he's actually a pretty talented player, but he doesn't seem to try very hard,
As much as I would like to see him go, I think we need him as of right now until we can give a younger guy like Lombardo a look or pick up another forward. Radz would be nice and bring some attention to the team.
I don't know all the league rules on salaries or SI, but I keep hearing that LA is going to bring in Zidane. If they're already paying Beckham's massive salary and Donovan's salary, how can they bring in Zidane? He must be asking for Beckham like money. I think Radzinsky would only count as salary since he is Canadian. Eddie Lewis and Keller would be two SI, which can be anything Toronto wants to pay (on their own). Since they traded both Casey and Mulrooney I would only assume one or both were SI players. I'm just guessing, but I think it could still be done. Fulham will stay up, but Radzinsky will be let go due to the 50 midfielders Fulham wants to carry for some reason.
I've not seen TFC play a full game, and probably won't until either the FSC Fire game or the Dynamo Wednesday contest, so I can't speak to them, but I think Houston is the closest thing that I've seen to an English or Scottish longballing side in MLS.
That's what's so frustrating. He'll get to the ball, hold it up well, then try to turn his defender regardless of where his defender is or where he himself is on the pitch. All his feints and stepovers could actually be extremely useful, but only if he uses them correctly. He has zero awareness of his teammates at this point, and it kills the attack every time he gets the ball. He almost always makes the wrong decision. At least Esky is trying and connecting with his teammates, Buddle seems to think it's 1v11 everytime he gets the ball.
Team Cap for each MLS team = $2.3 million (approximately) Beckham = $400K against the cap (the first DP for any MLS team is this much) Donovan = $325K against the cap (approximately; he is a max-salary player, so whatever the amount that is for this year) If LA brought in Zidane, he would count $325K against the cap. That is the max amount that a second DP would count against a team's cap. Basically, LA would spend almost half of their cap on three players and would have to pay the remaining 15 players on their roster out of the remaining $1.3 (or so) million. LA would also have to trade for a second DP slot in order to acquire Zidane in the first place (or to keep Donovan and Beckham in 2008). The catch is this: Donovan isn't a DP this year, but will be next year. Currently, MLS only allows a max of 2 DPs per team. LA would be fine for 2007, but would have to trade or release one of Beckham, Zidane, or Donovan in 2008. The problem is that for TFC to acquire any of those players it has to have either a partial or full allocation (for Radzinsky's transfer fee, assuming there is one) or a high-ranking allocation to pick up either Lewis or Keller. Any returning USMNT player requires a top-ranking allocation. TFC blew their's on Casey. Columbus (assuming they didn't use it on Schelotto), KC, and DC are the top three, so TFC would have to make trades with at least two of them in order to fit both players in. In addition, they'd probably have to find an extra DP slot for one of those players (no way both Keller and Lewis are signing with MLS for below the DP limit), and even Radzinski would command DP money. And that's assuming MoJo has given up on Jacen Bak. Otherwise, he would have to work out a trade for another DP slot to fit Bak and Radzinski on the same team, let alone trying to fit Keller and Lewis in. For argument's sake, you'd have more than 2/3 of TFC's cap wrapped up in Bak, Radzinski, Lewis, and Keller (it'd be a mirror version of LA's situation if it were to pick up Zidane). After that, you can kiss just about anybody making more than $90k goodbye (Eski, Robinson, O'Brien, Brennan, Buddle, Wynne, Sutton, etc.), as TFC would be so hamstrung by the cap that it couldn't afford to pay the remaining 14 players very much.
