I honestly don't know. They spent a lot of money for him and I 'think' they will keep him for another year to see how he works out with a full off season of training. I think he was surprised by how technical the Dutch league is in terms of speed of ball handling. If he is sold this summer Ajax will take a loss. He's also having to address the personal issue of his girlfriend having difficulty in getting a visa to come stay with him (that may have been resolved).

 

Alvarez was doing OK until a foolish and late challenge gave Utrecht a penalty that they converted. 2-0 and Ajax are out of the Cup.

 

i honestly don't know. He is not any better nor any worse than the other CDs. I suspect he feels under a lot of pressure when he gets playing time. I thought he was good with the ball today in terms of distribution. It was just one bad mistake, and this Ajax team cannot come back at this point in time.

Personally, I think he is going to have a great season at Ajax!

 

It's not clear right now. Ajax may lose up to four players in August depending on what the financial situation of other clubs is. If Tagliafico leaves, Martinez moves to LB and that opens up the holding MF. the important thing is he will have a full preseason training with the team and they don't have to qualify for the Champions League.

 

He moves there if Tagliafico leaves which is what everyone expects, maybe going to Athletico Madrid. Ajax don't have a left footed replacement. Dest can play the position but he may leave for big money if rumors are to be believed. Personally, I don't think Dest is ready for a step up and certainly not at Bayern.
