    Alvarez played the full 90 minutes as the right central defender yesterday in a Cup match against Spakenburg. Ajax won 7-0 and the defense was hardly tested. He did have a couple of nice runs into the offensive zone when there was a lot of open space in front. I suspect that this is the position that Ajax want him to play as the MF is now pretty full with lots of players now that Eiting has returned to full fitness.

    Alvarez is having a nice match in the cup game today. Ajax are up 1-0 at the half. Alvarez is in at right center back because the two players ahead of him are both injured. Chance for him to show he has what it takes to play here!!

    Easy 3-0 win by Ajax with Alvarez playing the full 90. I gave him a solid 7 for the match which was equaled by some other Ajax players. A solid defensive shift and was very good with the ball. There was no report about what type of injury Schuurs has so it's hard to conjecture if Alvarez starts this Sunday.

    Hey Orange14, I'm going to make a work trip to Rotterdam next month. I'll be staying in Amsterdam the weekend before as I fly in Saturday March 14. I see there is a home game for Ajax on Sunday March 15. I believe it's sold out, what is the best place or way to buy tickets on the reselling market? Or are there issues going that route. would appreciate your suggetions and tips. thanks

    I can't help you here as I am US based and haven't been to Amsterdam in some years. You might want to post over on The Netherlands Forum to see if someone from Holland can help you out.

    EDIT: I think the game is against FC Twente and from what I see it's on Saturday, March 14.

    My bad, I hadn't seen that you are in Maryland. Sorry. You know I've seen it listed both as Sat and Sun, but I've seen Sun more so assumed Sunday was right. Also, Ajax website has it listed as Sunday

    It probably was originally on Sunday but when Ajax dropped down to the Europa League they changed things so that Ajax would not play on Thursday/Saturday. If they defeat Getafe and move to the Round of 16 which is not a sure thing, the first match is on March 12 which would mean a March 15 league game.

    Alvarez was good today with a solid game for Ajax against a bottom dwelling team. He kept good position and his passing was more authoritative. Ajax take on a tough Getafe team on Thursday in the Europa League and it's very likely he will start again at CD.
