Im new to the boards having recently watched a game and played CM4 MLS for a while. One player who always pops up is a kid called Eddie Gaven, supposedly a talent for the future, is he any good and do the fans of the MLS rate his as highly as the europeans???

welcome to the boards..where are you from out of curiosity

Eddie Gaven is the youngest player signed to MLS at 16 as a P-40 player, he'll be 17 in october

He hasnt gotten into a match yet as he is training with the U-17 team in prep for the U-17 WC in Finland later this summer.

I was able to see him play in person last Sunday in a friendly with Mexico and he score the only US goal...he's a good sized kid..about 6-1 and quite good at holding the ball and winning headers/strong in the air. While watching the match I kept thinking he was the U-17 version of Brian McBride...as far as how we rate him..i dont think many of us can really say as he's not seen a minute of MLS action, but he obviously has quite a bit of potential ans should start seeing playing time next year for MetroStars
