Anyone knows what happened with Guerron's call-up?

No no no. One will "lose" his passport, another will have "missing pages" in his passport, and the last one will have "visa issues" that would prevent him from returning to his club's country.

At least one of them will get "injured" in practice. It will look too suspicious if they all have visa or passport issues. One might also have to attend an urgent family matter that will not be disclosed to the media.

I think Arroyo will play but Ayovi and Benitez will not. 50-50 chance tho.

I agree but it would be too obvious if they all avoided playing thus game. At leasst it would not be a good look on them with a new coach (Rueda). I could care less if any of those 3 played these games b/c all of them have done well with the NT. I think Rueda is ignoring our defensive problems, hence the lack of center backs in our official list.

Looking at the call-up list and the lack of defenders, could it be that Rueda is going to try a 3 man line in the back? something like.....
    --------------------------Banguera--------------------------
    ------Campos------------Checa--------------Mina
    -------------------------Castillo----------------------
    -Guerron----------Quiroz-----------Ayovi----------Montero--
    ---------------------------------------Arroyo----------
    ---------------------Benitez--------------------------

I think he's going to use all 4: Campos, Checa, Caiedo, Mina

or Mina, Campos (Caicedo), Checa, Walter Ayovi

we're definitely not playing a game in QUITO with 1 guy up front and no defensive mid. the usual 4-4-2 has to stay put.

This could turn out to be a very complicated game for Ecuador. Venezuela has made great improvements in the past years.

This is the lineup that I would place according to the list that R Rueda has come up with: 4-4-2; Elizaga, Caicedo, Mina Campos, W Ayoví; Arroyo, Castillo, Quiroz, Montero; Benitez, J Ayoví.

Instead of Quiroz, I would place Noboa to start or start Quiroz and bench S Castillo. That would be my lineup.

Así, este sería el equipo titular de Ecuador: Marcelo Elizaga; Juan Carlos Paredes, Jairo Campos, Isaac Mina y Walter Ayoví; Segundo Castillo, Fernando Guerrero (David Quiróz), Jéfferson Montero y Michael Arroyo; Cristian Benítez y Jaime Ayoví.

I like the line up set up by Rueda. If Noboa were there I'd replace Castillo with him. If Rueda has Montero, Arroyo, and Guerrero all in the midfield at the same time we're going to be playing with one 5. That would be a scary thing to with just Castillo. If it were Noboa, I wouldn't be as worried. I would have preferred to see a midfield like this: Guerrero, Castillo, Saritama, Montero

I'd like to see how Guerrero does with the NT.

I remember some of his skills when he played in the EPL were sick. He was making experienced EPL defenders look like children. His main problem was his size - has he bulked up at all?
