    Of course

What a game they are currently playing. 1-1 Against a strong Brazil. It helps that Brazil scored early.

Un partidazo que se estan tirando los muchachos at the moment! I can see us easily winning 3-1 or 3-2.

Obando needs to come for the second half. I’d take Caicedo out shift Bermudez over to the left side. Or they can take Caicedo out, shift Arroyo over to the left side and put Reyes in. They can’t keep giving Brazil a lot of space to operate. That’s put a lot of strain on the badkline.

Why did he stop getting minutes after the first game? I dont remember seeing him again.

Brazil took away their party in Quito and now takes their place in the final 8 of this tourney. Maybe next time they think about this when they give teams like Panama a chance to stay in games. Because today Ecuador was very much the little Panama on the field, and Brazil had 0 pity on them. In fact Brazil was wasting time, and playing dirty with 30 minutes plus left. I hope these guys hold on to this feeling, because the more of a conformist you are in life and in sport the more you end up in these situations.

ANYWAY, what a great game from our guys. Yes, they failed, we lost 3-1. BUT I finally saw some goddamn GRIT, some "fuccc U, I do not give a rats ass about your stars and jersey, I will do what I want, hit you in the mouth, kick you in head, sleep with your sister, and smile while doing it" attitude. I really hope these guys continue this momentum.

Meh the U17 should be fired immediately after this WC. Ecuador played terrible IMO throughout the whole WC including qualifying to the WC. I know they made the coaching change after qualifying but this coach is not good either.

According to the coach- Apparently Obando picked up a hit vs Panama which left him with back pain / back issues, which explains his absence.

That said, it's difficult to assess if that's the REAL issue since the coach will probably say anything as CYA, and Obando will probably keep quiet.

Crazy to think how fortunes could have been different if we didn't drop those points to either Indonesia or Panama.

These lads just need to do better.

    Absymal, actually...

Considering we've also been held to 0 goals in the past 2 games.

That's an average of 2.8 shots (on target) per game, and almost 1/2 the total # of shots for Argentina who is currently first in the statistic (would also be #1 by effectiveness at converting shots into goals and overall winning percentage).

Martinez screwed up. He kept Caicedo in way too long. He should have come off at halftime. He had options.

    Option A

    Sub Caicedo out
    Sub in Reyes
    Shift Ruiz to LB
    Shift Arroyo to the LW

    Option B

    Sub Caicedo out
    Sub in Vazquez
    Shift Ruiz to LB
    Shift Bermudez to the LW

The trend may continue tomorrow. Chile is in shambles but I’m trying to keep my expectations in check. Their game plan is going to be to foul us and quemar tiempo.

    I don’t see them beating us. A 0-0 or 1-1 wouldn’t surprise me though.

These scoring issues are not new though.

Last cycle had similar problems after we went on a tear and beat everyone until we played Peru at home and lost.

It's clearly an area where the team needs major improvement.

The defense can now keep us competitive in low scoring matches, but faltering up front in a tight tabla de posiciones will make qualifying a major headache. We need a breakout game to close out this round. This is our last competitive match until we hit the preparatory matches for the Copa America.

I’m down! I’m in the tri state area and I’m sure some games will be held at MetLife Stadium. When they played the Copa Centenario I watched Ecuador-Haiti.

There were goal scoring issues but it wasn’t because we weren’t creating chances. The problem now is that we’re having difficulty getting to the final third.

Me too. My last official Ecuador match was 2006 vs Costa Rica in Hamburg. I tried getting tickets for the Euro's next summer but lost the lottery.

We need to close this win out... Why is Khendry holding the ball so much?

Someone please tell this kid he doesnt need to save Ecuador. Sornoza is abysmal out there.

Preciado is becoming one of my favorite players. The guy is consistent and just does his job sprinting up and down the filed. No bitching and moaning with bad passes, plays it safe, had the balls to take that shot after the corner rebound.

COME ONNNNNN!!! GET INNNN, we need 2 more and a clean sheet

Paez is not having a good game. He had that shot on goal which led to the Mena goal but he’s not making correct decisions.

Playing with Sornoza is like playing with a man down.
