It has to be said that It's amazing how quick our CBs have adapted to European futbol as well. IDV have done a hell of a job in making them well rounded players.
Consistency is key, this win vs Colombia is historic and amazing 11v11 i think we could’ve won more comfortably, but this all means nothing if we drop the ball in March. We struggle to get points in this last portion of qualifying. The stage is set for Ecuador to start showing they are a top team. I think Beccacece has found an XI that works. Plata, Minda, Vite, Ordóñez and Yeboah compliment the team a lot better. These are players that can create and score and we need this sorely. Glad that Kendry wasn’t forced into the XI we played a lot better. Curious to see how Preciado will fit in at RB and how the team dynamic is. U20WCQ are in January so it’s another opportunity to showcase talent. But it would be nice if we could go deep this U20WC and not waste a chance at being a top 3 team. No one remembers the guys who crashed out in the first round.
I’m looking forward to the U20 tournament. There’s some depth and intriguing names at certain positions: GK - Loor, Jhafets Christ CB - Bautista, Bagüi, Arcos, Collahuazo, Sangoquiza Midfield - Rodríguez, Reyes, Borja, Ochoa, Guagua Wingers - Govea, Gipson Preciado, Klinger, Bruno Caicedo, Ronald Perlaza Other positions don’t have depth: Striker - Obando FBs - Ruiz
For FW we also Michael Bermudez and Jeremy Arevalo. Jeremy on his debut season 22/23 managed to score and assist a few times and played mostly as a ST after that he has been playing more on the wings but we should definitely focuse on playing him up front.
For full backs I think we will be playing Ruiz and Luis Moreno. Luis Moreno is a CB but has played in every defensive position I can think of. Both left and right full back, wing back, CB and CDM. I'll assume it will be ruiz on left and Moreno on right other than that we have no more full backs.
Looking at the tabla de posiciones...I need to remind everyone, every time, that we had 3 points taken from the NT. Without arguing the legitimacy to that claim, it is pretty impressive that could have been the difference between in 2nd and 3rd place right now. That is a nice achievement.
I think Jesus Polo would be the RB. There’s no depth behind Ruiz and Polo tho. I remember Cucharita Caicedo being part of the U17 squad but I haven’t heard much about him this season.
Something interesting to consider is the importance of climbing up in the FIFA rankings. I dont think its possible to get into Pot 1 in the time remaining but being in POT 2 has its perks, doesn't hurt to have an easier group. There are are some "preferable opponents" to be drawn with in POT 1. These are what the POTs would look like assuming highest ranking teams qualify. POT 1: CAN,MEX,USA,ARG,FRA,SPA,ENG,BRA,BEL,POR,NED,ITL POT 2: COL,GER,CRO,MOR,URU,JPN, SUI, IRN,SEN,DEN,KOR,AUT POT 3: AUS,UKR,ECU,SWE,WAL,EGY,NGA,ALG,PER,PAN,CIV,VEN, POT 4: QAT,TUN,CAM,CRC,IRQ,UZB,RSA,CRC,JAM,NZL,MAL,HON POT 1 ideally drawing with any of the hosts is what we want, then id favor my chances with Belguim and Portugal while wanting to avoid France, Spain, England, Netherlands and Italy. In POT 2 we would avoid being drawn with teams who can be darkhorses and being put in a group of death. In POTs 3-4 contain opponents we "should" be able to beat.

Y'all saw that Pacho has been linked to Chelsea and Ordonez to Aston Villa? Would be great to have them in the premier league.
I would be surprised if Pacho makes a move in the winter transfer window. He just moved to PSG a few months ago. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Ordóñez. I think he’s ready for a move to a more competitive league.
I expect Pacho to move in the summer. Would be great to have 2 of our best players on the same team. I hope Hincapie moves too. He's been balling but it's also raised his pricetag.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pacho moves again in the summer. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he stays with PSG. I can see them offering a raise and also increasing his release clause.
I don't think it serves Pacho that much to move out of PSG- he's been stable, the team is playing in Europe, and they're competing for sliverware. Unless he makes a lateral move to an equally competitive squad in the PL or La Liga, he should stay put. He makes a good weekly salary that will likely have some bonuses attached to it. PSG would be crazy to let him go for even a 20-30% higher transfer fee...someone would have to be asking for at least $80M to pry him away, and with his long contract, an unreasonable buyout clause would and should be attached to his contract (as a rider) to ward off other teams.
He's doing extremely well but if an offer comes he should leave. Look at Hincapie who's playing great but now can't get out because his price tag is too high. As for Ordonez I really think he should go to Aston Villa so he gets adapted to the premier league.
Hincapie, Pacho, and Ordóñez are all 23 years old or younger. Our back line is set for the foreseeable future assuming they can steer clear of serious injuries.
I don't think it's a pricetag issue- he stayed because he was in Xavi's plans for this season and what incentive is there for Leverkusen to sell him when they're going to make a run in Europe and are playing generally competitive ball while he's on a good-value contract for the club. These teardowns at clubs create signing nightmares...with money they are forced to buy equally high to get a "comparable" player or will have to go back to the developing world and start the process again. Let him develop for 1-2 more seasons and sell a more mature "product" - that will increase his pricetag, build his leadership chops, and make him better equipped to handle the higher levels of pressure that will come with going to a "bigger" club. While on his best days he is world class, on his worst days, he'll give up costly fouls and is prone to the occasional red card. He's playing for one of the best young coaches in Europe and he is in a top-4 league. He needs to be consistent. I trust Xavi to be a great steward for his development. Once Xavi bolts, the team will likely get somewhat dismantled.
Hincapie at Leverkusen is a great fit. He is gaining great experience in a top 4 league with a club riding on a high as current league champions in an undefeated season while playing the best of the world in the Champion's League without having to deal with the pressure of expectations from the media and pundits associated with playing at a major club with a major transfer fee hanging over his shoulder in front of a relentless fan base that usually comes with a Manchester Citeh, Real Madrid or even PSG. I have no doubt he can handle all that - but he doesn't have to right now. And that is a good thing.
I used to find free streams for games as recently as 2 weeks ago, but since then, seems like a lot of sources got shut down or just simply disappeared. Does this line up with reports about criminal organizations running piracy efforts? I had to pay the Fanatiz $15 fee to watch the LigaPro finals but quickly unsubscribed to not let the cost recur. Man, all of this decentralization of providers for distinct leagues makes it so difficult to keep up.
