    you know it a bad sign when he ends up in the mouth of the faranduleros. The worse kind of media in the country. I think only Armando Paredes & Ivan Kaviedes reached that kind of bad media attention.

    Imo I think these next 2 games are statement games. Paraguay is gonna be an interesting game, Alfaro is gonna look to get a draw and exploit his knowledge of our players. Getting 3pts for Uruguay is more realistic than Brazil. 6 pts here and we are golden, then we have a Bolivia at home and a complicated game in Colombia.

    I wonder if Beccacece will have a better call-up, the last one was abismal. Goalkeeping is gonna be interesting cuz there is no way Moises Ramirez makes it. Regardless I expect to see the same list of players with maybe 2-4 changes. Something tells me a few guys who didn’t get the call will be here.

    I hope David Cabezas & Miguel Parrales get the call and that we get a microciclo going for the GKs and FWs.

    For FW I would call for Microciclo:
    Erick Mendoza
    Jostin Aleman
    Jairon Charcopa
    Cristopher Zambrano
    Richard Borja

    GK for Microciclo:
    Ronaldo Silva
    Brian Heras
    Mario Valero
    Jose Gabriel Cevallos
    Eduardo Bores

    Any word on Plata?

    Regarding Kendry, the kid is becoming a side show and getting attention for all the wrong things. His attitude is worse right now- basically defiant and generally not caring. The classic IDGAF attitude that starts slowly sinking guys who lose focus. How does this get fixed? I don't know. Maybe it's a phase? He just needs to get to Chelsea ASAP where heavier hands can keep him in check. Clearly, he's now too big for Ecuador.

    If Minda is healthy, our lines replenish relatively well and he adds some needed creativity in attack. All of our Euro-based players will show up and hopefully maintain their level- I haven't seen any consistently erratic play from them, and thus the omens are favorable.

    I got a feeling he won’t get used to England.

    Minda scored again today in European conference league. He’s in good rhythm.

    Páez is just enjoying his big man on campus moment. He has 0 stress, a made men essentially in terms of career and finances. He’s guaranteed a move to Chelsea, and earning those European wages for at least 5 years at worst. Agreed the earlier Chelsea take him the better, he’s in for a nice awakening - and obviously caicedo being there and a leader will help. They opened a special transfer window and Chelsea will be able to take him for the club World Cup

    I think part of the problem is the people he surrounds himself with. They don’t have his best interests in mind. They want to latch on to him due to their own person agendas i.e fame, money, women. He doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong because not only is no one telling him otherwise but they’re enabling his behavior.

    I don’t stress much about keepers cuz Galindez is gonna start. Although it’s hard to justify Ramirez and Valle getting called up. It sets a really bad precedent, at minimum you should be a consistent starter.

    My money is on pairing up Caicedo with Franco/Zambrano over these 2 games. I can see Beccacece starting with Sarmiento and Yeboah on the flanks and having them rotate with Kendry/Vite especially with Plata and Mercado being an option.

    I’m glad Campana got called up. Not because he deserved it per se but either he scores and helps the NT team win or he doesn’t and people will stop asking for him to be called up to the NT for awhile at least.

    That looks poorly executed just like everything in Ecuador. I’m judging from pictures and video but there’s nothing indicating any construction going on.

    Apparently the car drove straight into a part of a bridge that was under construction and at street-level.

    Regardless of what happens next, it's a tragedy. Two young men are dead and others are seriously injured.

    Apparently the owner of the vehicle is Marco Angulo, but he was not the driver.

    Prayers up for Angulo. If by some miracle he survives, it's almost assured that his career is done, but at least he can live out his days. Man, such a pity for all involved, but I do have to agree with PrimitiveWays - poor execution. There's no indication of road closure signs and a 50 ton part of a bridge is just sitting on the road blocking traffic on a main road/highway. This is a recurring issue in Ecuador with regards to construction and signage- there's a general lack of notice or safety measures. If it wasn't that car, it would've surely been someone else, and if not today, it would have been on some other day. Sad.

    Today is a very sad for Ecuadorian football. It’s heartbreaking. I hope Angulo makes it out of this. Prayers for Roberto Cabezas and his family.

    What do you think will happen in regard to the game against Paraguay? M. Ramirez, Hincapie, Pacho, Ordóñez, Chavez, Caicedo, Vite, Minda, Mercado and others all played with either Angulo and or Cabezas at some point in their young careers. Their emotional state should be taken into account.

    FEF would be smart to deploy some grief counselors- and IDV and LDU should be proactively doing this, too.

    Looks like South Florida will get spared the worst of it - all good here in FTL. I anticipate some sporadic flooding due to heavy rain and maybe fallen trees from the tropical storm winds.

    If anyone is in Tampa/Orlando- stay safe! It's gonna be rough in Central FL.

    The winds will be tough as a cat2, but I think the risk comes from rainfall and flooding. Stay safe bro, and sandbag those doors if you have a chance.

    Out of all the rumored line ups I like this one

    Hernán Galíndez;
    Félix Torres, William Pacho, Piero Hincapié;
    Alan Minda, Alan Franco, Óscar Zambrano, Moisés Caicedo, Pervis Estupiñán;
    Gonzalo Plata, Énner Valencia.

    I doubt that Zambrano and Plata get to start though. Zambrano and Plata didnt do well in their last game with their clubs. Its too soon to see them start in the NT. Id swap Zambrano for Vite and play him more up as a CAM. and swap plata for Yeboah. Alan Minda starting over Preciado might be a good move sine Preciado always seems to do poorly in Quito. Zambrano and Plata would be good subs for the second half.
