I agree with each federation being more involved in getting these elite athletes more private sector benefactors to help them train for the next Olympics.marketing a big part of sports and these medal winners should be showered with advertising contracts and speaking gigs to make it easier for them to train.4 years till the next Olympics doesn’t seem that long anymore and the private sector sponsorship/advertising shouldn’t be a problem to get these athletes some long term contracts.
Serie A teams have struggled in the Copa Ecuador. Serie B and Segunda Categoría teams have played well.
There’s a lot of guys who would be playing first division ball if it weren’t for the number of foreign players Serie A teams are allowed to sign. Most foreign players that come to Ecuador are trash. They come for the money. I rather see Ecuadorian guys get a chance to play.
You can't compare the markets and exposure though. It's literally a David vs. Goliath set up. Spending 30-40k on an athlete or a few hundred thousand for a team annually for a US firm is a drop in the bucket and brings tons of goodwill press. Even if they run a loss on it, there wouldn't be much of a problem. They probably spend more on office supplies or copies. Ecuadorians are so trigger shy to spend cash at the corporate level unless it's soccer because there's no local market to give sensible visibility to an athlete (vis a vis the brand) with ROI. Even when they stand to make money, they're still trigger shy.
I understand what you mean but I was giving an example that money does not come from one industry in the US, which can be used in Ecuador too, to generate income and help the athlete from doing odd jobs to fund their trips abroad or get equipment.

I hope Beccacece gives players from smaller clubs an opportunity. Orense has some interesting players - Pluas, Erique, Vazquez, O. Quiñonez. Cuenca has an interesting player as well - Bryan Corozo. Players from smaller clubs get overlooked but they deserve an opportunity.
agreed. awesome news about Pacho. I never thought we’d have such stand out defenders. Really felt like it happened in the blink of an eye. Even la sombra didn’t bode well in Europe when he went to Netherlands. The more I hear of the Beccacece guy the more I’m getting sold. purely on paper it’s not that impressive (yes he won a cup but that team was handed down to him). But after watching the tape broken down and acknowledging that he has been in the Ecuador soccer orbit, I think this will be a success. He’s got a ton of pressure though, we’re not world beaters but we’ve been consistent through 4 years with Alfaro and even BAS has gotten positive results in the start of the qualifying campaign. Becs needs to win and do so convincingly. I’d start by finding a forward, seeing the true time table for Pervis, and seeing what off fifa schedule friendlies I could muster up to try some local less known guys.
Loor and Egas have to work together on the schedule. The starts too late. The mid year break is too long as well. With a better schedule there could be room for microciclos during the season. Also if the season were to start earlier then theoretically it would end earlier as well. There would be room for a training camp that could be held after the season ends. Colombia did this.

That's a good point. I was reading one of their starting CB's are injured. Could mean Pacho can actually challenge the back up for the beginning of the season
I saw Ronnie Carrillo recent games in Brazil recently and he has also improved in those aspects. Them two and Erick Mendoza could be very interesting call ups under Becaccece.
