Obando could have made the move to Europe if it weren’t for BSC’s dirigentes standing in his way. He could have gone to Cercle Brugge but it fell through because egos got involved.
Interesting past few days for Ecuadorian football: Oscar Zambrano to Hull City Willian Pacho to PSG Maelo Rentería to Pacos de Ferreira
Interesting, but we're stuck in a position now where we have to worry about Pervis and his health. It's been a strange storyline for someone so physically gifted and yet year after year he experiences these long bouts of injuries- last season being an anomaly for the extremely high absenteeism.
Brighton probably has a shit medical team. His injuries don’t seem as constant as to when he joined Brighton. https://www.transfermarkt.us/pervis-estupinan/verletzungen/spieler/349599
Emelec debe apostar por sus canteranos, es el momento. pic.twitter.com/OKk9r23WQ6— El SCOUTER (@Elscouter_) August 5, 2024 He may get a decent amount of playing time.

You guys see what’s going with Antonio Alvarez? Dude had some shady business dealings and escaped to Peru.
I saw a recap of Campana’s game against Tigres and he played well. I haven’t seen him play all that much recently but from what I saw in this game there’s considerable improvement - more mobile, quicker, made correct decisions, technique was on point.
This season he’s got half the goals than previous seasons but there’s 9 mls games left, so he might score about 2 more. He’s got 5 and he gets about 10 a season. He’s got about the same minutes played than Messi and is still being outscored. Suarez has played 213 more minutes than Campana with 12 goals to his name, in his first year. He should be outperforming players that are near retirement. I don’t think he is good enough to play la for la tri, 29 goals in 3 years are bad numbers. https://www.intermiamicf.com/players/luis-suarez/stats/ https://es.intermiamicf.com/players/leonardo-campana/stats/ https://www.intermiamicf.com/players/lionel-messi/stats/
I forgot that IDV brought shares in Pacos de Ferreira. https://www.futbolecuador.com/site/...de-ferreira-by-independiente-del-valle/167114
I was surprised he wasn’t part of the U23 squad for the Preolimpico. I saw him play in the U20 Copa Libertadores last year and he played well. I don’t know why he wasn’t moved up to the first team for this season. IDV Jrs has some interesting players - Jean Arroyo and Emerson Pata. Both could easily be playing first division ball.
A month away from qualifiers and leagues are going to start up soon. Hoping our guys start consistently, perform well and bring that experience in the NT. Wondering who we’ll line up with vs Brazil under this coach. Pervis getting back into form is key. Pacho going to PSG is a pleasant surprise, hopefully he is a consistent starter. I really hope Zambrano sees a decent amount of minutes at Hull City, hope to see him partner with Caicedo in the future. My ideal line up for 2026 to work towards would be the following. Take your pick at keeper. PRECIADO-PACHO-HINCAPIE-PERVIS CAICEDO-ZAMBRANO YEBOAH - PAEZ - SARMIENTO RODRÍGUEZ Along the way we’ll need to explore the option of a new keeper, Dominguez and Galindez will be pushing 40 by then. Rodriguez is the sole man up top, i won’t take this team seriously if Enner starts. Maybe J. Caicedo, Campana or someone else will develop into decent strikers.
This stuff breaks my heart. It motivates me to work harder because there’s people out there with less working a million times harder.
Who picks these questions? They’re so so… So bad. https://www.youtube.com/live/1PbFarDtzUA?si=73YXns-7Tms31Mwo
Truth- though honestly most of these sports run at a loss and offer no financial return to sponsors except vanity exposure- which is also validating and important during the olympics or other important tournaments, but it dies out VERY quickly. The local is too small, which is a tragic situation for the athletes who need this sponsorship to get the most out of their careers- much of these sports, with few exceptions, are so low paying. Generally speaking, the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee just needs to do better with our elite athletes and at the very least cover the absolute necessities so our athletes can perform well. Whenever they show up, win or lose, they should have a reasonably routed flight, suitable accommodations, and all relevant equipment covered. These are the bare necessities. It would be of supplemental help to have someone on the committee focused on sponsorships acquisition to help the athletes find the benefactor on the side, too. I know for a fact they do not do this.
Yeah. Has Ecuador ever had a kit other than yellow, blue, or white? Personally I would like them to design a black kit.
