I think this is the first time I’ve ever felt this way but I hope they perform horribly at the Copa America. Maybe that will be enough to get FSB fired. I have no confidence in the Ecuador NT as long as he’s coaching. So they beat Bolivia and Honduras. Big whoop. They lost against Argentina. I don’t see them being competitive against tougher opponents. FSB’s strategy would be to defend the 90 minutes. I don’t see us beating Mexico or Venezuela. And it’s not because we don’t have the players to do so. On paper Ecuador has the players to make a deep run in the Copa America. It’s hard to do that when the coaching is trash.

I don’t know about you guys but I feel positive about our team even though we play some ugly fútbol. I think we are getting out of the group stages but nothing more.

    I'm with you...

Let's do this!!!! Forget the critics, forget the press, forget the haters and forget the legends and "role" models that are criticizing. If we lose, fire the coach. If we do well, well, it is worth doing a self-analyses.

Either way, VAMOS Ecuador. I will be in Vegas at the match vs Jamaica supporting them. A couple days before I will be in Houston cheering for Colombia with mi mujer and her son...Colombianos.

    I'll post pics.

I'm also hoping for the best although these last couple of games have left a lot to desire. However, we do have the players and quality to make it through to the next round. If we don't make it, the coach has to go.... simple is that. I'm flying to Arizona to cheer on the team vs. Mexico which should be a good game. I'm hoping we win and get to watch the Mexican fans suffer lol.

Nice, dude! Haven't seen you around for a bit- welcome back!

    Safe travels as well.

I really struggle to understand exactly where is the issue with Ecuador when it comes to tournaments. After the 06 WC, we basically had a stacked roster of players with international experience + tournament know-how, and yet we still stumbled. That generation was with us until about 2014/15 before some changes started to trickle in. Recently, the inverse is true, we have a stacked roster of players with a reasonably high level of international club experience- some of them won titles or battled in important games, and once again, we seem to be falling flat.

I do pin lots of blame on bogus coaching, but there's just something in the mentality of the players which I can't fully diagnose yet. We can't translate that potential and talent into deep runs consistently, and that's worrying.

FSB should get booted regardless of the outcome, though I feel that's a pipe dream. FEF is so tight with money and I can't see them terminating the contract and hiring again...if they do, I'd be horrified if names like Bolillo, LFS, or Pinto start creeping back into the discussion.

Off topic. You know what I just noticed? That if you put your phone horizontal you can see people’s locations and teams?

We need an experienced coach to lead because one with little experience can't navigate rough patches.

Just look at how Bielsa has Uruguay playing now after they had a rough start.

Im waiting for them to release the navy blue one.

Cannot miss out on that one.

    Slick jersey.

Since I don't have anyone traveling back from Ecuador anytime soon, I'll be buying it through the link.

That is the huge downside of Marathon - their international distribution is terrible. The third party sites will immediately jack up the price at least 30% (excluding tax and shipping).

But the market here will pay.

    Definitely- it's a gem.

The WC 2022 yellow and blue kits were slick, too.

So many tiny details in those 2 jerseys that just stood out. Unique for sure.

Soccer.com has the yellow and white ones for $170. Yikes.

These guys are ecuas and they usually get jerseys same time as release dates in Ecuador.

I’m not sure if he’s been training with the NT continuously since the premier league season ended but I think I saw videos of him training in la casa de la selección back in late May or early June.

Campana scored today for Inter Miami. They had like 22% possession at the time.

I haven’t seen Canada play since the last WC. They have some interesting players. From what I remember about them they can create goal scoring opportunities. Their main problem is defending.
