You do realize that the mood and atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. No one is insulting each other, not talking any shit?

Why do you want to start that?

BTW keep ecuafutbolfreak on a tight leech, he goes to the Chilean forum only to insult "our mommas" and how chile sux and our players are fat etc etc...

Back to the mature conversation, what do you guys think is ecuador's weakness? being honest.

    Are you Bielsa? ;)

    Weaknesses:

    1. Haven't found consistent forward combination.
    2. Majority of players no longer acclimated to Quito.
    3. Aging central defense (esp. Hurtado).
    4. Cevallos weak on crosses and high balls.
    5. Midfield is not strong on possession - we lack a true #10.

Biggest weakness for this game is - WE HAVE TO WIN. A lot of pressure on the boys.

I would not consider this to be a weakness, for me it's more of a strength because it will give our game a sense of urgency. You won't see that slow game that we played against Venezuela, I'm expecting this thing to be like the game against Peru where we came out with all cylinders firing. Honestly, I've seen our boys play better with their backs to the wall rather than us having massive advantages where we come in sobrados as hell like in the Copa America or in the first game against Venezuela in Quito....

    Ayovi is trustworthy...
He has had good games against Argentina and Uruguay.

I think we'll see a line-up with mostly LDU and DpQ players since
we're playing in Quito... so expect to see Ambrossi, Campos, Urutia
Cortez and Bolanos in the line up...

I'd like to see this line up:

    -------------------------Elizaga

    De Jesus---------Hurtado---------Sombra--------Ambrossi

    ----------------------Castillo------------------

    ---------Valencia---------Urrutia-------Ayovi (Bolanos)

    ----------------Guerron---------Benitez

Well, we still don't have a solid goal scorer a true 9 position, Although Caicedo seems to be on the right track, I'm afraid of his non-consitent playing time in his club (Manchester City).
Secondly, I still haven't seen us play a good game without Mendez (who won't be playing this game).
and my biggest fear OUR LEFT FLANK, we just dont have a marcador Izquierdo, I'm sure Vizuete is gonna go with Ambrossi although a solid player he is too short, in my opinion out of shape and tends to join the offense a little bit too much and not comeback down fast enough. (I can't beleive I'm gonna write this but I actually wish Mina was available).

Interesting, but would you leave Caicedo out? considering he is our tallest player and Chile's main weakness has been headers?

I agree with you about MINA... too bad he is out for this game with yellow cards. but i feel Ambrossi + La altura will balance this out ..
about a true #9 ...Caicedo will shine one day...
but for now we have a speeedy #11 in Benitez
who i believe will score against Chile...

Left flank the weakest? Then Alexis Sanchez will have a good game. He usually plays for the right attacking wing position.

I think that out of the three players missing for the chile match, edison mendez could be the most costly. he is the closest we get to a #10
The national team's offense at times tends to lack clear ideas when attacking without him.

Good point which is why I'd like to get Urrutia in the mix somehow...maybe instead of Castillo? Or have Valencia on the right and sit Guerron at the beginning? (touch choices)

Urrutia is the closest to Mendez style of stringing together passes in midfield, and he has a long-range shot similar to Mendez.

    ------------------------ELIZAGA-----------------------
    ------De Jesus---------Hurtado-------Sombra-----------
    -------Valencia-------Castillo-------Ayovi{urrutia}---------
    Guerron-------------------------------------Bolanos--

    ------Benitez----------------Caicedo------------------

call me crazy, but that's how I would line up against Chile, with Ayovi or Urrutia alot more focused on defense.

We have be offensive from start to finish...
Just like we played against Argentina.

    I'm almost positive we will see a 4 4 2

    ------------------------ELIZAGA-----------------------
    ------De Jesus---------Hurtado-------Sombra-------Ambrossi

    -Guerron------Valencia-------Castillo-------Ayovi--------

    ------Benitez----------------Caicedo-----------------------------------

I like to see Ecuador will be attacking...I am one of those who think Bielsa's Chile plays better away from home, we almost got away with a win against Uruguay...I think it's possible to do the same in Quito...we will just have to be carefull with the headers and physical strength from the Ecuador dudes.

    Horrible press research.
The avarage height is not 1.70.

Its 1.76 which is a big difference between 1.70, however, its still smaller than yours. But like I said i dont believe you guys are faster.

Que reaccionario que eres, Yañez. No hay necesidad de mosquear tanto a los ecuatorianos... a menos que le quieras hacer competencia a Cristian Benitez (?).
