Got some updates: Moldova 0-0 Czech Rep. HT Iceland 0-1 Scotland 25th min Sweden 0-1 Hungary 25th min What is going on with Sweden? I mean I know their starting keeper is out but this is getting a bit too much. Also, Scotland finally leads for once.
HT scores: Iceland vs Scotland 0-1 (Dailly 7') Sweden vs Hungary 0-1 (Kenesei 5') Moldovia vs Czech Rep 0-0 (already minute 70') Sweden is also a riddle for me. The Scandinavian teams always do the opposite of what you expect them to do. I mean, Hungary is usually underachieving and shouldn't be underestimated, but nevertheless Sweden should defeat them - especially after their Latvia disappointment. Czech Rep is also disappointing. Losing a point in Moldovia can already mean the deciding difference to the Netherlands in this group.
FT: Moldova vs Czech Rep 0-2 (Jankulovski 68' pk, Rosicky 78) Iceland vs Scotland 0-2 (Dailly 7', Naysmith 63') Sweden vs Hungary 1-1 (Ibrahimovic 76' - Kenesei 5') HT: Bulgaria vs Croatia 2-0 (S.Petrov 22', Berbatov 37') Georgia vs Russia 0-0
Hungary hang on for the draw, away. I look forward to reading match details at UEFA.com. This Hungarian side drew with Spain in a friendly last month, so for what its worth, they might not be all that bad. Hungary have had signs of renewed vigor for several years, but up till now, its always been a case of another false dawn. But, with Sweden stumbling out of the blocks, perhaps the Magyars can make it to another major final, finally. Hows that for optimistic, after one game.
Georgia vs Russia was stopped at halftime due to floodlight problems. Game is rescheduled for tomorrow. FT Bulgaria vs Croatia 2-0 HT Belarus vs Austria 0-0 Lithuania vs Faroe Islands 2-0 (Razanauskas 23'pk, Poskus 37') Ukraine vs Greece 0-0 Finland vs Azerbijan 1-0 (Nurmela 13')
FT Lithuania vs Faroe Islands 2-0 Ukraine vs Greece 2-0 (Vorobey 51', Voronin 91') Finland vs Azerbijan 3-0 (Tihonen 59', Hyypiä 71') HT Malta vs Israel 0-0 Romania vs Norway 0-0 Poland vs Latvia 0-1 (Laizans 29') Macedonia vs Turkey 1-1 (Grozdanovski 2' - Okan 29') Denmark vs Luxembourg 0-0 Slovakia vs England 1-0 (Nemeth 23') I assume the England game is in HT - at least uefa.com lists it as 45'+1 since minutes.
It would seem That some in the crowd brough their bovver boots. Seems like there was some trouble across the railings between opposing fans, but the police look to have decided to push the English fans back only. The Slovakian fans seem to be able to continue their taunts unopposed.
Thats more like it. Now for the winner. Somebody is going to get sent off soon. Tackles are geting bad.
Gol for Owen as England take the lead. Scholes crosses and the defender makes a mess of the ball as Owen pounces on the rebound. Slovakia 1-2 England
Slovakia 1-2 England FT England should consider themselves lucky as they were dominated for huge chunks of the game by Slovakia.
