I wonder if we might see more of Fuhrich as the wing supersub instead of Leroy? He didn't do anything wildly great, but he's at least not making the kinds of dumb decisions Sane has been making lately.

Hope so. I'm livid with Sane. He had a fantastic opportunity against a really tiring bloc to impliment his speed and direct play!

Yet his attitude stank. Agree, Hope Fuhrich gets more opportunities .

Honestly I would have picked Brandt in place of Eagle Eye Cherry.

Agree. Sane has a real ego and a bad attitude. After this tourney, he needs to be discarded!

I suspect Sunday's match vs Switzerland will be a restrained affair, with both sides saving themselves up for the knock-out stages.

Hungary really has disappointed me. Thought they’d be in 2nd right now

The pink kit is very popular. I personally dont like it, but its everywhere. Expect these sort of designs/colors from now on for the away kits

They were doomed as soon as they were labelled 'dark horses'.

I thought that performance wise what we saw from them today wasn't much different from the last Euro or Nations League, the difference was that we were much better organised and defended aerial crosses better. Once that happened the difference in quality in attacking areas shone through.

If Germany wins in round of 16, who are the potential opponents in quarter final, semifinal or final?

Worth remembering Sane is not match fit and is working his way back.

He definitely is a key part of Nagelsmann's power line change up.

I thought Sane brought a lot of directness on the wing and stretched play but his final decision making is so bad at the moment - missing dangerous key passes and doing dumb shots or take ons instead

I really like the tactical approach and changes Nagelsmann brings, even if he rode his luck a bit in the first half.

Hungary are a difficult side but Germany managed the game state really well and as you noted they fell away.

Nagelsmann still looked to kill off the game from 1-0, but didn't overcommit players forward. The goal eventually came and then they fell apart basically.

My criticism is that the ball circulation was often a bit slow or lacked variation compared to vs Scotland. It was apparent on the second goal that it was made because Kroos made that first time pass to JM. It wasn't a hard pass to make, but just a great decision to suddenly speed up and catch them on the hop. A very Spanish change in tempo!

Fullkrug did well when he was on and dropping short for the ball. Once setting up Sane with an amazing pass. But was with Havertz, Germany really struggled to get the ball to him. Think that needs to improve.

If Germany wins the group, does anyone know at what date and time they’ll be playing the first KO match?

Watching back - shortly before JM scores, Havertz overpowers his man on a right channel run and gets 1:1 with the keeper - the defender clearly holds him back with both hands around his waist so he can't get over the ball for a clean strike - no pen?

    The reffing is so inconsistent

I have to say iam abit worried about how high our fullbacks get when we have the ball. Lose the ball against a fast counter attacking team and we are in big trouble.

Agree. But I think and hope Nagelsmann will adapt the tactics to a little bit more restrictive and controlled approach if facing the best teams with the likes of Mbappe and co.

I think the clue lies in our games against the French and Dutch, we were more of a Mid - block team, we didn't get exposed on transition.

Good thing with Naiglesmann his tactics are in line with each opposition we face.

Yeah I thought that was weird. I suppose that the ref may not have seen it, but regardless it seemed like a foul to me.

While obviously not as easy as the Scotland game it was still a decent performance yesterday. I really think Fullkrug should start but I doubt it happens especially after how well the first game went.

The fullbacks did decent going forward but got caught out to many times defensively which can be a serious problem against a better team. Also Sane has been absolutely garbage in both games. I like his pace against tired legs but his decision making and finishing has been horrible.
