Can 103 and 137 live together in harmony? I realize that this forum is being plagued with threads and posts by only a % of the people in the groups, but man, the childishness and petty differences is overwhelming.

Can we use this thread to only say constructive things?

I don't want this thread turning into a pissing contest, or a bash-fest. I would like to discuss ideas as to how we can leverage the power of having two groups. Each group has its own unique set of people. Each group is very passionate about our team. Both groups stand the full 90 and put voice and drum and hands behind our style of support. We had a beautiful showing against our hated rival DCU, where BOTH sections did well in their support. It was a great night. The rain and the lightning delay made it even more memorable with even more special things that each group was able to do to make lasting memories of that night. I know it goes against the nature of being a Cre fan, but stop for a minute, reflect on these GOOD things, and smile for a few.

I'd like to see 137 and 103 work together in some fashion. We don't have to see eye to eye on all things, but our numbers combined can be very beneficial.

For example, if we wanted to plan a road trip, a 103/137 combo trip makes a lot of sense in order to get the number together to actually make a bus possible. Let's build something good, not tear each other apart.

I'm surprised it only took until the 5th game for full blown civil war.

    Must be a record.

While adversity between the two groups in not good at all, I think some sort of a rivalry is ok. I feel that if 137 thinks they are louder than 103, prove it in the game! Be loud out there, louder than you already are! And vice versa. This "conflict," while unnecessary, may also be slightly beneficial. If one section has beef with another saying we are better, louder, or bigger, prove them wrong at the games, not on the message boards. That is purely childish!

Yeah let's all go to the Toronto game. Seriously. None of us have been to BMO, I think both groups should focus on at least making one solid road trip where we look good on tv. It would be beneficial to do a bus because alot of the younger people can't afford to drive all the way to Toronto.

I'll probably drive to Toronto because I'm closer but if you guys want to pick me up in Erie, PA which is on the way then that would be awesome as well. Introduce ourselves to the Toronto fans to show them DC and Chicago fans are not the only ones with passion.

I think it's cool that we have different groups instead of one group. All supporters groups have these options. Teams in Europe to DC with there three groups have different options for different people. It gives more of a chance of success.

Anyways, I really want to see BMO so I'm going either way. If no one else can make it I'll make some sort of banner for 103 or some type of Crew banner before that game.

Last year we could have fit our supporter section in a ********ing VW bug.

And now there are supporters bitching at each other for where they stand?

Good Lord. Shut the ******** up. All of you.

Moreover, I will be at the new home match. If any of you would like to discuss any of these supporter qualms in person, I would be happy to mediate. Leave this crap off the boards. It's just tacky and makes us all look bad.

New home match? Did we change the schedule? *confused*

Also, Chels, I think its nice that we have to upgrade from the VW bug... funny thought how quickly this appears to have changed. It's almost like the groups seperating has helped both groups to grow... or something.

    The bickering must stop.

My offer is still on the table for the parties involved to discuss this topic in person. For pete's sake, last year I would have killed for two supporter sections. And what do we have now.. name calling?

    +Nazis?
-DC Bigsoccer mods? Yes. Crew fans? No.

    +Old?
-A pretty relative comment. The kids I work with think I'm old.

    +Afraid of the security?
-Good Lord. I would not want anything on my record. (Granted... not that I haven't done stupid things in the past)

    +Rebels against the FO?
-Just where in the hell is that going to get anyone? If it's for a good cause(protesting against a piece of shoat coach), then sure. But just rebeling against the man or the system seems rather pointless, if it's just for the sake of rebeling.

Bottom line: Go to CCS or Hunt Park or whatever you want to call that glorious stadium and chant your f*cking bottom off. Do that and be true Crew.

    Do we need Rodney King to appear at the next game and appeal for calm and plead for peace, asking;

"People, I just want to say, you know, can't we all just get along?"

Chelsey, I realize you're one of the few ladies on this board, and, to be true to baord form, I guess I should be making mildly flirtacious comments towards you? Is that how it works?

Sadly, I'll forgo this protocol and simply say that while I'm glad we have two supporters sections, I can't let this end. Because 103 are a bunch of stinky heads.

Also, no one here is "protesting the man" for the sake of doing it. I'm hacked off about the FO's freak out policy on smoke bombs and flares, while at the same time ignoring the things that are really doing harm to the CCS experience:

    T-shirt cannons and Cruizers.

I say we fire one at the other, and be done with both.

    Finally, some quotes:

Oh thank God. Now I can get back to reading my books at night.

Wait, you mean competition between two entitites could in fact drive up the quality of product produced by both entities? Whoa! Thanks for the update Sherlock.

Finally, if we do all go to Toronto, can we say negative things towards the other team? Is that going to be allowed? Maybe one of you who are PM-ing me to tell me how awful and mean I am can clear that one up for me.

    Thanks, hugs and kisses.

What? Blasphemy. I drive all the way to Columbus for the Crewzers. Did myshap tell you I drive six hours total. Six hours in the car for the Crewzers halftime show? I'm sure he did. I make sure I'm always there to support my crewzers when they graze the field. I'm hardcore.

They need to shoot off t shirt cannons during goals. People would be like damn those crew fans sure like those goals. I swear CCS turns into a zoo when they shoot those things off. What free t-shirt? Free rubber soccer ball? Hell yes I need one! Grandma, little kids, I don't care who I trample because when I'm squeezing my free rubber soccer ball that my friends is the true story of victory. Or the WILDBEAN SHOOTOUT! If the Crew were to score I would only want them to score during the wildbean shootout because then I can get a free cookie! what a deal! And if they score three times during wildbean does that mean three free wildbean cookies. Oh the humanity! The cookie monster is rolling around in his can.

    Bowler,

Your arguing on this message board is really childish. It pisses me of, dagnab it.

In fact, it's so childish, I'm going to complain about ON A MESSAGE BOARD.

    That'll get my point across.

I'm not saying it pisses me off, but the fact that people are arguing about which group is better is childish (for lack of better word usage). I'm not coming out here calling you childish, but the whole situation unnecessary. Nowhere did I make a personal attack on anybody from 137, or 103, calling anyone childish. I'm not petty and low like some of the other people on here. Yeah, I'm new to the Big Soccer boards, but coming here I thought I would never see Crew fans bicker about something so meaningless as which supporters group is better. It could be worse, we could be like KC and have no fans at all. So instead of bickering, lets embrace the fact that we have a choice of which support group we want to join, and lets be happy that we have a soccer team to cheer on!

Yet the many years of evidence with Columbus Crew supporters' groups and the graves that have been dug for them should tell you all it's done in the past is alienate people and drive down both membership and participation.

This younger group doesn't understand that. They weren't here and don't know the history. Just let them have flares dammit!

This can't be emphasized enough. I know smithnwesson thinks he's doing something productive, but it's really just the opposite. Both groups need to be large and stable (and continuing to grow) before promoting "healthy competition" is going to lead to anything.

Besides, the arguing is the exact opposite reason I started this thread. Did nobody (or just 1 or 2 people) read that I was asking for ways we could combine our powers on certain aspects? I know I'm now wasting my time, because I'm sure some great comebacks are in store for anything that gets posted. F-this.

Please do give it a rest. This whole disgrace of an argument should not exist. Get over yourself. And please, please do not say "well crewfighter won't give it a rest". If you honestly give two hoots what that guy does, then you ought to go play in traffic.

Why can't you let it end? What exactly do you want accomplished? Street cred? Go find Zak, he's the one who hands that out.

Competition is one thing. Name calling and acting like idiots is a completely different story.

You know what's so ********ing comical? Almost every supporter in 103 has been supporting Crew for years, in 137 of all places. I love 137; I absolutely love that section. There's no need to have a ********ing war because we're all Crew supporters and at this time LAST season we were trying to get more people in 137. Apparently, more people came now that we're gone. Go ********ing figure.

    This topic makes me irrate.

By the way, smith, go check out Section 8 and see how they feel right not about their FO. The whole lot of them received calls and emails about how there was only one gate they could enter in and how they'd all be padded down before they went in.

I can't believe I am saying this but.. our FO does not seem so bad compared to that abominable situation.

Ok, ok point made. I'll get off yer figurative lawn. Yeesh. I think you guys take ME waaaaaay too seriously.

Have a little fun, and if you hate me fine. PUT IT INTO your preperation for 5/12. Make me ashamed that I sit in 137, when I should be sitting in 103, where the loud fans are. Seriously!

    I don't want to see 103 fold. I want to see Union 104, 105, 106, etc...

But, my gosh. If you guys get so bent out of shape because ONE person calls you out, what are you gonna do when someone complains to the FO about you being too noisy, or waving a flag, or whatever?

Seriously, I sat with some of you in 137 years ago. Never had season tickets, but whenever I went to a Crew game (been to about 25 since Hunt Park came about) I sat in 137. I appreciated what you guys stood for. Now,the first year I buy season tickets, and I find everyone's bolting for 103? And why? To get acknowledged by the FO? To get away from what made 137 great?

Sorry, I don't understand you. We need you, but I don't understand you. So I make some jokes, and everyone acts as if I'm wiped my arse with a Brian Maisenouve jersey. I'll leave you too your criticism-free world. I don't know who you are anymore.

Actually it was to make a section great like the earlier days of 137. That is what you don't seem to understand. There are so many people here that have wanted for the longest time to have a massive supporters section cheering the entire game. These people have spent years putting in time, effort, and even their own money to make a great section. This off-season the decision was made by some people that a new section and identity would be the best move for the supporters. They wanted to do what was best for a supporter group. The fact you equate selling out to the FO with doing what is best for a supporter section can be a bit offensive.

The only thing we want is a massive section for a massive club. Bickering doesn't help. It has gone on for years and has only made things worse. So if you want to help tear the sections down, by all means keep name calling and bickering and trying to start "rivalries" when the groups just aren't ready. However, if you care about the team and your section, do everything you can to get the section louder, larger, and more fun.
